Only 32 or older guy to score more than Curry after 25 games into the season was Jordan too.

The Jordan comparisons are legit with this guy unlike for inferior players.

.669 TS, same number as 15/16. Only bettered once in 16/17. His numbers are going to come down soon, but his form in the last few weeks has been legendary. Shame the team hasn't been good enough to help turn them into wins. Best player in the league this season

The scary part is that taking a lot of 3s hurts his FG%.

Wow. This accomplishment must mean that he for sure doesn't have any games where he shot below 30% this season. And certainly not one where he shot 13%.

Steph last 10 games: 34.5 pts 5.4 ast. 4.9 reb. on 76 TS%

For the sake of his haters' sanity his numbers better come down. There's a chance they might not though. Before the Cavs game I read that the Warriors had the 6th highest strength of schedule. If the Warriors tear up the weaker teams, Steph's MVP candidacy might get a big boost. His haters' heads might explode.

Imagine he ****s around and gets the team 3-4th somehow, and snatches the MVP right under Lebron's nose. Simon and his army of virgins are going to shut down for the entire summer.

Jokic has been better clearly so far. And his stats actually impact winning the games. This dude Steph averaged 75%TS and his team goes 5-5 lmao.

No shit, it's almost like Jokic didn't take over the worst team in the NBA this season.

Jokic this season is leading the NBA in Offensive win shares (OWS), WS, WS per 48 minutes, Offensive BPM, BPM, VORP and all kinds of letters in there haha.He also has better On-Off stats. You said Curry has been the best player this season and he is actually 'not even close' to being the best.

Again.. Jokic's playing with a competent team even though I think Joker is also carrying them. Just read elsewhere Warriors OFF with Steph is 7th on the league. Without, it's 6 points worse than the worst OFF in the league. You're comparing a WCF team to one that was in last place in the NBA last season.

The Warriors finally playing better ball now (defensively mostly), and I'd imagine the WS OBPM and VORP will look differently by the end of the season if Steph keeps 90% of the pace he's been in.

You brush off Jokic's stats like they are the result of being in a good team. Imagine that team without Jokic. They would be dead last. Curry has been very good lately but overall he hasn't been the best player of the season so far. It is very clear imo. Embiid also has been great. If you focus on individual stats MVP race is between them right now. And don't forget, both of these guys are better defenders than Curry. Especially Embiid.

I don't agree at all that Nuggets would be last without him though, there's no way that team is as bad as the Warriors. As for defense, that's obvious. Any MVP player is likely to have a defensive advantage in the conversation with Steph, esp a DPOTY candidate like Embiid. It's all about what the end result.

OWS, WS, WS/48 are basically the same metric family and so are OBPM, BPM, VORP. They use the same underlying box score derived data. That they overlap is therefore unsurprising. Curry is around 3rd-5th on these metrics. On advanced metrics that incorporate plus-minus data like ORPM, RPM, RPM Wins Curry leads hovering around 1st-2nd and Jokic is 3rd-9th with some absolute distance. Which set of metrics is more accurate is probably debatable but the fact that Curry and the Warriors are one game behind the Nuggets despite the Warriors being dead last last year I think is compelling.
