I was going to say times have changed but it is obviously more than that. Easily Lebron's most unlikeable characteristic is overreactions like this. He also acts childish in various subjects and it might have something to do with early fame and getting spoiled. Larry Bird was the fuc*king man but I bet that he had a standard life. Very different environments and lifestyles. Also their profesionalism are in opposite sides of the spectrum. Bird fuc*ed his back for basically nothing and Lebron is the most professional basketball player ever? He takes care of his body excellently.

In the WWE, they call that selling it.

The 80s was a different time in general. Bill Laimbeer tried to sell and flop around. Rodman too. And that just expanded to the entire league when it worked.

Not to say guys like LeBron don't get hurt for real and they need a minute to collect themselves.

Laimbeer didn't sell or flop to any degree that Bron does. He stood in there and fought. When he fell to the ground, it was because he got knocked to the ground.

Those videos/gifs of Lebron flopping or barely getting hit and yet ends up rolling on the floor, are because by him and him alone. People are only here to witness. Those are numerous instances. Not just a handful that you can nitpick. It has been consistent for Lebron so there are no excuses.

The blame should not be put on people who are simply bringing it up as what it is. What is odd is the number of stans not acknowledging Lebron’s predilection to flopping.

Laimbeer flopped. He’d also fight you for real. Not nba shove and tussle. Knuckles on jaw go to war no back down real fights. He knocked people out in actual square up fights. So it’s hard to properly place him. Can you be both a ho and tough?

TE maybe and possibly WR, but he's too tall for running back or corner, and quarterback is just too different from point forward in basketball to make any sort of claim.

Although being the very best at WR means besting Rice's career, which would be extremely hard to do. Possibly a Calvin Johnson like career, if Lebron was up for that kind of punishment.

defensive end or Ol is the only position someone at his height has played. Think Hendrick at linebacker

Back in Bird's day, you didn't want to show weakness. If someone fouled you hard you tried to act like nothing happened. Guys like Bird or Jordan basically never flopped or exagerated contact. It was just how men behaved.

Times have changed.

Yeah flopping is pathetic, a guy like Lebron started flopping in order to combat not getting all his fouls called I reckon. There are times where he's taking real contact out there for sure. And those Bird gifs are pathetic for a different reason.....that passes as defense? Wtf. Yes I know it was prevalent in eras before they instituted flagrants for Mj. But why should that get any respect, that's as skill less as it comes and would result in gunshots at the park....

By the way....Bird comments on playing hurt:

"My job is to play basketball, not make excuses," said Bird, who also has been limited because of floating bone chips in his right elbow. "If I was working on a construction job, I wouldn't have stayed home because of it. It didn't hamper my game any."

He didn’t even like to acknowledge being hurt.
