I don't know about Jordan or Lebron but Doncic comparisons won't look silly next year.
Can he maintain that efficiency without missing some games due to injury?

Doncic’s defense isn’t up to par. His eating habits are also a concern

I just hope he keeps his weight down and stays healthy. If he does he will be a great player.
No reason to bring MJ into the Zion discussion. Dude retired almost 20 years ago. Let it go.

It's not really about Zion or MJ. It's ultimately just about Lebron.

Zion is a lot like young Michael Jordan.
Very one dimensional.

Zion looked like an absolute monster last night. Anyone who didn't needs to peep the highlights.
Just a special talent. The way he moves at his size is crazy.

No one has passed MJ yet, Zion would have been the first if he accomplished that.

How about wait until the Pelicans have a winning record before comparing Zion to all-time greats?

I'm old and I don't havea problem comparing Zion to atg players. Just pick the right one.
Barkley led the league in TS 4 straight years while averaging ppg in the mid 20s. He was also averaging double digits rebounds, leading the league in rebounding one year at 14.6 per game.
If zion carries ingraham to a chip near in the future, then AirBosnia will rejoice and be happy to finally come out of his retirement.

They put zion on luka in the 4th quarter of their matchup. Luka had no problem getting past him. Luka is crafty af with the ball.

Zion will need to up his rebounding game quite a bit. But in getting to the rim, early 20s Barkley is a good comparison.

Barkley never had the off dribble quickness of Zion.

Comparing today's scoring to previous decades is ridiculous. Reggie Miller could double his scoring average. MJ would average 40 in this no defense puss league. He would get 20 free throws a game dunking on this weak garbage. Myles Turner is one of the top defensive players and he is a weak beta. He is the worst starter on the Pacers but one of the best defensive players in the league. Thats how weak the NBA is.

Jordan averaged 37 in his 3rd season and 35 the following season. Averaging 40 now isnt a big difference.
However saying Reggie would average 40 is just nuts.

Much faster pace. 26ppg today is equivalent to about 12 or 13 ppg in the mid 80's.

80s?? If you were going to say this why not at least say the 90s, when the pace actually was slower than it is today.

I don't mind someone dethroning MJ as GOAT. They just have to prove it and it will be obvious when that person comes because it will be easy for the majority to say. It has to be evident.

Who cares what you think, stupid. 26 points today would be like 8 or 9 in the damn 90's. You can't even name 3 starters on your favorite team, retard.

Durability is going to be a question for a while. He also has to develop a shot. His length is subpar for his position forcing him to compensate with athleticism which will fade eventually makingnit difficult for him to age well, but also forcing him to play with more intensity raising injury risk and risk of fatigue problems late in seasons.
GOAT is a long grind and he may have trouble going the distance required.

I agree. Without a clean jumpshot his athleticism can only take him so far. I see the similarities in dominating the game physically. But his ceiling is Shaq and floor is Barkley. He should study Larry Johnson on how to transition from an inside force to a respectable jump shooter.

Winning six rings with six FMVPs would help. Something Lebron in his 18th season is still chasing.
Durant has multiple rings and FMVPs, and nobody seriously thinks he's passing Jordan. The GOAT standard was already really high when Jordan set the new one.

If someone really wants to make the argument that Bill Russell is the GOAT, then so be it. Wilt as well. But I doubt Lebron fans do.
Anyway, this is about the ridiculous notion that Zion or Luka are the next GOATs. If Curry, Durant, Giannis and Harden aren't even in the conversation, then maybe we should wait a decade first and see what their careers look like.

Lebron fans I find would be objective enough to acknowledge Russell. I find it's more people are subjective to Lebron hating.
Put it this way, ISH has shifted from promoting Jordan to discrediting Lebron. That much impact shows he's as much part of this conversation.

Michael's name is going to slowly start moving down lists over time. That's just how records work, unless you make like Kareem and put up a number so absurd (38,387 points) that people think it's unbreakable. But even then a guy like LeBron will come around and break that.
All records are temporary. Except maybe LeBron's career total playoff points.

This boi is desperately clinging onto six rings, meanwhile:

Russell is yawning with 11 my boi :lol That's like celebrating 5,987 playoff points when LeBron has 7,491. Keep. Up.
Also, don't forget MJ has zero playoff records. LeBron has them all. Please see below:

Anyway, back to the OP.
Good luck to Zion and Luka maybe one them will be the next one to pass Jordan.
