This is what Stern did for MJ in the 90s with the 3pt line and nobody even batted an eye:confusedshrug:

I like the thread title and OP
And the alt account to parrot the OP point perfectly
So I'll provide a real response...
Shortening the 3-point line increased 3-point volume and efficiency, but league-wide ORTG actually cratered because the shorter line shrunk the court and reduced spacing, thus making 2-pointers much tougher.. Shortening the line congested the lane and the game
So Jordan's offense wasn't helped by the shorter 3-point line, despite having good volume and efficiency for the time period.
Furthermore, 3-point shooting wasn't a weakness of Jordan's - he's the goat 2-point jumpshooter with goat form, so he shot well from 3 anytime he took more than bailout volume..
Think of it this way - when lebron was given open jumpers to start the 2013 Finals, he averaged 16 on 39% for the first 3 games... Otoh, when Jordan's jumper was challenged in the 1992 Finals, he literally turned into Steph Curry... (:confusedshrug:)

A shortened free throw line wouldn't help LeBron. His problem at the free throw line is psychological. The guy is shooting 38% from 3. The league average is 37%.
He's shooting 71% from the FT line. The league average is 77.6%.
The FT line is closer than the 3 point line. How can his percentages flip like that compared to the league average?
It's in his head.

Mid-range requires touch and form
Lebron has neither.. Nor does he have the mental makeup to focus on such meticulous shots
So he generally shoots open, flat-footed heaves - this gimmicky style is the sign of a guy with no touch and no real jumpshot

He's always had those kinds of issues. Not being able to join the dunk contest.. playing hot potato in clutch moments.. Good thing about Lebron is he continues to try. I would say it must have something to do with his bow shooting form but that could not be it. Miller had an ugly form but shot well. It is in the head.

Yep. The lack of participation in the dunk contest is another indicator. All eyes on him on an empty court. It's basically the same thing as a free throw except even further amped up. And despite his psychological shortcomings, he's still one of the very best to ever do it.
