I disagree with this. Kyrie is a part-time player that has a lot of personal issues. As talented as he is, he is not a leader. It's easy to look at the Net's success and say Kyrie is in a better place but that is due to the Nets as an organization and being able to acquire KD, Harden and other key pieces.

Nobody has ever said Kemba is better than Kyrie. Irving is no leader, though. That's a joke.

Bingo.

Kemba was never better than Kyrie.

The amount of nikkas that were saying Kemba was at the same level or better than Kyrie. Mostly Bran stains but still

That fraud ain't even better than IT was for Boston. IT had way more heart despite being even smaller. He could drive the ball anytime and beat zones at least unlike Canba.

Yeah, a guy who sits out games because he just doesn't feel like playing...great leader. :facepalm

He had personal shit to deal with.

Some things are bigger than basketball.

This season he has been absolutely terrific.

They got lucky.

They avoided the Bucks bracket. Babybois got lucky they got the Craptors :oldlol:

Also played a Sixers team without Ben Simmons 1st round.

The thing is Kyrie was always typecast incorrectly as a point guard.

Now that he's alongside a big guard and true playmaker, he can really shine as a 2.

Irving when healthy is basically a midget Kobe Bryant. He was celtics best player. Of course they miss him. Celtics just got lucky they faced Raptors without Kawhi, Raptors with Kawhi would of Swept Jason Tatbum.

Kyrie was complete trash vs the Bucks in the 2019 playoffs.

Let me know when Tatbum wins anything without Irving.

Bucks were tough that season, they were going to be up 3-0 in the ECF until Kawhi saved raptors in overtime.

Are you a Gordon Hayward fan? Did you used to root for Celtics when he was on their team? Do you still root for Celtics?

So true.

He lead the Cavs to 2016, Boston hasn't been the same without him

He was almost always the best guard in his matchups in Boston when he played for Boston. This is a false narrative.

It's A VC3!!!

The Celtics roster is much better than their losing record suggests. They have a lot more talent than a 15-17 team. Being 15-17 has very little to do whether or not Kyrie is there. I don't agree with the CEO publicly making this statement because that is covering up the losing season with a "If Kyrie was still here" hypothetical.

Sounds like a purposeful insult at the two young bucks. Neither is doing enough to get the team to higher levels.

2019 he played in the postseason yet the Cs came up short of an ecf trip

Agreed, no team with two all-stars should be 15-17. It's even worse when you realize one of those all-stars was All-NBA 3rd team last season.

yes... plenty said it. and many were calling for terry rozier to take his place when he first went down. Kyrie is producing on 122 ORTG this year just like Chris Paul, except on double volume.

No, people were saying Kemba is a better fit because he's not a head case.

But i've heard that rozier is still playing with the Cs and is good with his current role there.

Oh wait.

Bingo.

There's no leaders on the Celtics. Smart is, but he does in a way that the others apparently don't like. (Look at the Heat series last season)

Tatum and Brown need to develop into leaders.

Lol Marcus Smart is Prime Lance Stephenson with good PR. He will be absolutely devastating to a teams chances when his athleticism slips. His chucking is horrendous and he’s only elite at flopping defensively.
