It took Stephen Curry only 11 seasons to pass him. The modern league is just more advanced and improved over the 90’s archaic Neanderthals

Well yes there is absolutely no question that three point shooting skill has improved.

The deep shooting accuracy we see today is so advanced that in the 90s no one thought it was possible. Not even in video games.

It's interesting to see people complain about this because in the 80's and 90's the major complaint about the game was that nobody could shoot, nobody cared about fundamentals and everyone just wanted to dunk and be flashy slashers.

The 90's had its faults for sure but Give me that physical archaic bball over this joke of a league any day. The nba sold out and got rid of defense to cater to the casual fan and now it's just manufacturerd garbage in general. You must be a casual if you actually love the way the nba is now. It's a joke dude.

The NBA started to look more like the NFL for a while. Now the defenders are given little chance to even compete. Need somewhere in between.

90s were crappy because only one team has won at least three rings during that decade so ofc they aren't worth talking about anymore

Id like some balance. This league is too soft and offense oriented. Its basically a shootout.

Have Miller play his entire career in the modern NBA and it would be a lot closer. Curry is the greatest shooter ever, but Miller would definitely benefit from the modern NBA style of play. So would guys like Dale Ellis and Glenn Rice. You can't do a direct comparison because teams played differently back then.

Steph has taken 12 threes a game in 3 seasons. In Reggies highest scoring season no team took more than 10 and the Pacers 9. Reggie took 4 of those 9.

It obviously isn’t a comparison worth making far as the resulting totals....not that you thought it was to begin with.

So I guess none of the past players will be able to develop a 3 if they train to do so and adjust to modern play right?

And to think the Rockets missed 41 three point attempts yesterday.

They didn’t take them because they weren’t good at them. Bombing from 40ft + on high efficiency was thought of impossible.

They played within the confines of the rules and understanding of the game back then. The Lopez brothers are able to develop a 3. You dont think that past shooters can be good 3 pointers in todays game?

Yeah, but maybe three players in the modern NBA can do that. Give Reggie Miller, Larry Bird and Dale Ellis (or whoever) a few seasons and they might be efficient from that range too.

and that was without taking 1000's of 3's a day like players today practice. They didn't have offenses that were built to get them wide open 3's.

It's hilarious how teams/players back then were hesitant to shoot lots of three pointers.

The modern NBA is way smarter/tougher/more competitive.

He would only say the era were lebron is at, thats the best, most talented and toughest era ever. He will say the modern era is the best until lebron retires, then by 2027, he will say the current era is garbage. Lol
