What ISH poster is this? This is like when rappers can’t stay off the gram bragging and in interviews talking too much.

Reminds me of one of my high school buddies right out of school. He worked in sporting goods at Walmart and his mom was an assistant manager there. He'd stash hunting ammo in the back and it would be continually discounted by the store out of season. We ended up buying tons of ammo $.30 on the dollar. I probably bought 20 cases of waterfowl shotgun shells myself from him. The store manager eventually realized what was going on and made his mom force him to quit.

Reselling killed the game for me. **** resellers. My collection is worth over $10,000 and now cheapened by the whole reselling game.
F*ck Ann Hebert for supporting the reselling game.

Doesn't the reselling game increase the value of your collection?

My shoes had value before reselling became a trend
Resellers target current shoes that are impossible to buy and takes advantage of the situation. Vintage shoes have their value pushed down.

You're thinking of current shoes.
I have a pair of 2004 Olympic 7s worth $800.
I put them on line for $450. Offers like $250 keep coming in. Nowhere close to my asking and very far from its actual value. But if an Olympic 7 came out today in a limited amount that shoe $250 retail will likely resell for double.

How do u guys feel about UA? I’ve done some research on that this year. And come to the conclusion they look as good if not better than retail. Recently purchased 2 pairs. One yeezy bred 350 and Fire red Jordan 4’s. With 3 more on the way. Happy customer.

UA has been disappointing in terms of basketball performance. Grips are terrible. But if it's a collector show you want fill your boots.
Where do you shop?

I don’t hoop. It’s more for casual wear. Plus I’ve never owned a pair of Jordans. Mom wasn’t buying me any and when I got of age to make money I wasn’t feeling the price. Coupled with the resell factor.

Kickze. So far so good. Copped the Jordan hares, jubilee and off white bred 4’s. I’m not someone that’s gonna resell these (that would be scummy). Personal casual use. Lookin for some new balance 991’s.

This just confirms what we know is happening.

Nike needs to go into damage control because that's ****ed up. Plenty of people can't afford the sneakers let alone the resale.

I'm not a sneaker head by any means but do have a decent collection I actually wear. It sucks that if you want a pair you really like you're paying a premium.

Yes that one.
I quote my prices on StockX. (Actually went down now to $550)
Those one time on StockX got over $1000. "Collectors" nowadays want new swag. Old vintage stuff is not in demand. There's value, but new aged buyers don't want to buy.

I dont know shit about shoes... but generally speaking, arent collectables worth whatever the market will pay?

You would think so but the market is geared towards what is inaccessible on new drops. That favors the reseller because they may have access to these drops, pick up volume, and jack up prices. Nobody wants the old collectibles. They just aren't....trendy. Unless it's a AJ XI or AJ I. My whole collection is bastardized because of this. I have/had nearly every rare Jordan between 2002-2010. 6 or 7 years ago I got way above market value. Now all these shoes are being lowballed. Specifically by the reseller who foolishly thinks I'd sell them at original retail so they can make a quick buck. I've had shoes listed for 4 years still not sold like my Olympic 7s. It's been dropped again new during that timeframe (Tinker Alternate), people paid double retail for that instead of taking mine for $400 (2004 Retro). That's how backwards the shoe game is

Did you buy those shoes with the intent to resell? Or did you buy them because you like shoes?

If you just like collecting shoes because you enjoy shoes, who cares what the resale value is?

Also, is it possible that the prices of classic shoes are dropping thru the floor because a large percentage of the people who would normally be shelling out hundreds on collectable shoes havent worked in the past year?

Anyway, this thread makes me feel pretty good about my decision to collect guns/ammo instead of something like shoes.

I was an avid collector. I pretty much wore 60% of my purchases and deadstocked the other 40%. I'd even buy 2 pairs. 1 to burn and 1 to stock. My interest declined quickly when reselling became popular and no interest in them. And my son outgrew my collection. I still have 60 plus pairs I am keeping on sentimental value. But not interested in keeping the rest.

Lol touche.
To also answer your question, Covid didn't affect the reselling game. Shoes like Dior X AJI were selling for $1200. People were taking the gov assisted money and practically giving it away to the resellers

when youre ready to get out of the shoe game, I strongly recommend collecting guns... guns are more useful than bball shoes, they hold their value extremely well, and you can probably find some great shoe for gun trade deals in the hood lol

but imagine if you had 60+ guns instead of 60+ pairs of shoes!

and yes I am looking out (because I love you)... you can try throwing your shoes at the baddies but personally I think firearms will be more effective
