discounted Blake griffin is what a contender needs.

Who the hell would want him? He hasn't dunked in like 5 years it seems. I know I don't want my clippers touching him. He doesn't play defense, so nets don't need him. Lakers already have Montrezl Harrell, Utah has Derrick Favors.

I don't see it. He may just retire. Unless he picks a random non contender team.

Blake is absolute garbage at this point. Sad to see but I can’t imagine a contender would want him.

Dude was done-in by his alligator arms. If he had even an average wingspan for an NBA power forward, he'd basically be Zion Williamson.

The D they are missing?

Tbh I dont think we need him, though as a backup PF playing against the opponents 2nd unit hes not too bad. I hope the Knicks sign him to 30M multi-year deal.

I just think it would be funny if the Clippers got him back. Rooting for him to come back strong.

Since that team has a completely different identity i dont see any intrigue to it

If he does come, I hope we sign him for vet minimum rather than use our MLE. There are a lot of doubts about whether he can still contribute to a contender team as a rotation player, can be a high reward low risk move if he signs for the minimum. The MLE though, need to reserve for better players from the buyout market, ie. Drummond and Covington.

Keith Smith: Nets have an advantage over either LA team in that they can offer Blake Griffin more money using part of the Taxpayer MLE or by using the Spencer Dinwiddie DPE (https://*********.com/social/).

do they want to pay him more though?

Nope he’s signing for minimum. We will only use the MLE or DPE for players like Drummond or Covington if they are bought out.

In what planet is Covington being bought out?

He will go to Miami for sure. No brainer

He's not going back to the Clippers. Ever IMO

I mean Blake is as childish as it gets for someone his age. Last I recall he ran away from a Balmer handshake. There's a video of it somewhere on youtube and it shows Balmer laughing at the immaturity afterwards.

Clippers may be a different roster, coached differently and a significantly different ceiling. But the ownership is what IMO will keep Blake away from there.

Going from championship worthy Clippers to Detriot i'm sure instilled a bit of reality for him that his time is going to be coming to an end soon unless he just cares about paychecks.

Lakers would be the biggest F you to the clipps while also give him a solid chance at a ring.
