If he played in this era. He would of been a killer 3 pt shooter too.

Kobe’s reputation on a skill level will probably never not be overrated will it.

Kobe was clearly a less skilled basketball player than Chris Paul on every level. So we know the level he was NOT at. So let’s work our way down to a reasonable skill comparison from there.

Say, Paul George. Kobe was in Paul George’s neighborhood of skill.

How come Paul George isn’t 1/20th of the player Kobe was and neither was Chris paul

Kobe just grew up on the scorers, volume shooting is ok mentality. Everybody wanna be like Mike

Kobe was obsessive and could adapt. Im sure he would have benefited starting in an era where passing and 3 point shooting is a priority over putting 35 a night

The man holds the record for the most missed shots in the history of the league.

Definitely a bannable post right here.

Slightly OT, but Chris Paul has become the most overrated player of all-time. 13 years as a #1 option. 4 total playoff series wins. Four. FOUR. In 13 years. Don't care how pretty your advanced stats are, that is inexcusable.

I think you could just as easily argue that he's just been one of those guys who has been extremely unlucky in his career. For how good he is, to only have 4 series wins...it's not all just his play. He's had numerous external factors that haven't gone his way.

Find a series they lost in which he played poorly/it was his fault and maybe I’ll listen. Not CP3’s fault Flake kept choking. He also was probably about to win a ring in 2018, and he was the main reason they were up against the GOAT Warriors. Good chance he would have won FMVP against the Cavs too. An injury is literally the only thing separating CP3 being unanimous top 25.

If lopez brothers can develop into 40%+ 3pt shooters in this league, why cant past players?

Prime kobe would be unstoppable. I think about the Raptors subpar defense during kobe 81 point game. Everyone's defense looks like that now because of the rules. He could average over 40 easily

Kobe in any era would not be the best ever.

There's no way he's more valuable than Wilt/Kareem in their era. There's no way he's more valuable than Magic/Bird/Jordan in their era. And Lebron is clearly better in this era.

If you want to make it specific to shooting then these guys from different eras would out-shoot him:

Jerry West, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Curry/Klay

Kobe's problem from 3pt land wasn't that he couldn't hit them, but that his shot selection was awful and he chucked up stupid ass shots regularly. He'd still be that same guy regardless of the era he played in.
