At this point right now, it appears to be a 3 man race between Thibs-Quin Snyder-Monty Williams. What would it take for Thibs to win it?

To me, Thibs has it at this point. Williams & Snyder have their teams playing great, but they've been building to this. Thibs just got to NY and the turnaround in 37 games has been somewhat dramatic. "Coaching matters" type stuff.

Long way to go, though. And Williams & Snyder are also deserving of recognition.

Frank vogel never got COY last year for leading the lakers to top seed after 6-years of playoff hiatus. So what makes you think thibs will be getting it this year.

Doc Rivers won COY in 2000 with the Magic only going 42-40. If the Knicks finish .500, he’s definitely at least a candidate. The team has been horrible the last 6-7 years.

I agree that Thibs is a great candidate but Rivers winning Coy on a team lead by Darrel Armstrong is still different with Thibs having an Allstar who stuffs the statsheet in Julius Randle although im not sure if he plays the same under a diff coach.
