View Full Version : Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram

I pick Ingram because of his superior skill. Here's 3ball making a similar argument for Kobe.

Wade is nice but he lacks the pure scoring ability (quick iso and/or contested jumpshooting repertoire) of Kobe, which was required with the championship on the line - all of Kobe's scores down the stretch against Spain were pure scoring gems, whereas everyone else (Wade, lebron, etc) had more basic ball-dominant skillsets that required set-up time (thus less effective in high-pressure times)

Ingram because he's a better two way player. If Zion improves at the other end that could change

I will take the young player, he scores more, more dominant player. There is also a problem that there is a lot of scorers like Brandon Ingram, so all teams got wing defenders who can guard him. Nobody is really set up to guard Zion Williamson.

lol Not really. All advanced stats show Ingram to be a mediocre defensive player.

For now, zion but let's see who's going to age better between the two when it comes to longevity.

Brandon Ingram is simply not anywhere near Zion's level.

Zion, but it doesn't matter.

No one will get to see this kid shine rotting in that swamp

We know 1st option Ingram isn't it. 5th year now and same lousy w/l. Lakers otoh look pretty gud after he dipped. 24-4 to start 2019 season was it?

Zion is ahead at the same age in his career. Scores more, is more explosive, more exciting.

Having said that, Zion is big and heavy, and at the same time relies on his athleticism and explosiveness. This is generally not a good recipe for a long, effective career so he may not age as well as Ingram.

I like both players, but Brandon is my favorite in the league. Both these guys have a HIGH ceiling.

Ingram a two way player? Are we just spewing random shit out there? Okay, I pick Zion because of his Magic Johnson-like assist numbers and his 2008-09 José Calderón free throw shooting.

and they show that Zion is one of the worst defenders in the league

Zion:

Defensive rating: 117
Defensive box plus/minus: -0.6
Defensive win shares: 0.5

Ingraham:

Defensive rating: 118
Defensive box plus/minus: -1.4
Defensive win shares: 0.4

Obviously Zion isn't a good defender, but I don't know if there's a player with a worse combination of those three defensive advanced stats than Ingraham.

Tell that to AirTupac and he'll probably slap you with a fish in the face, bosnian style.

Zion is 3 years younger and already slightly better. No unbiased person with IQ>50 would pick Ingram over him.

Ingram easily... because Zion will peak very early, like Terry Cummings or Larry Johnson

We've already seen the best of Zion... He'll lose a step by his mid-twenties because of his size...

he's fun to watch for now though.. but a Knicks Larry Johnson is his future.. sorry to crash the party (not sorry actually)

Zion has a higher potential but would be injury prone, plus I don't see that he has the same drive as Ingram.

Banned after like 12 hours :oldlol: Though I don't know what the mods expect, he's exhibited the same behavior for 7 years

That's unfair to Zion. First, because it's not true. Second, because if you're unstoppable down low, who cares what else you can do?

Ask Shaq. And Karl Malone, who had a pick-n-roll elbow jumper, and rode it all the way to the HOF.

Malone also played D and rebounded but it didn't get him any rings

Doing other stuff doesn't matter as much if you're doing it less efficiently.

Brandon Ingram's Player Efficiency Rating is a low 20.4 at an age when he should be getting into some of his highest PER numbers.

Zion, on the other hand, has a stellar 26.8 PER at age 20 keeping him on track for all-time greatness.

Zion will go the Blake Griffin route, just a lot faster with that weight and reliance on the hop step. Unless he diversifies his game, hes ****ed.
