They don't want 'parents and the public' to see teachers on Spring Break trips

Can these unions get any more pathetic???

One notable difference between "red" and "blue" states has been schools:

No evidence school closures save lives from COVID. Strong evidence they've disrupted the lives of millions of families across the country.

Its crazy how selfish and entitled these teachers are acting. Grocery workers, delivery drivers, transit employees... the supposedly "essential" workers have been working for the past year and there is not a shred of evidence that these jobs are associated with higher covid mortality, yet these selfish clowns want our children to suffer because they supposedly dont feel safe (although they're safe enough to go on vacation).

Every single teacher who refuses to return to work should be fired, the kids deserve better.

Also, its worth noting that the kids who are suffering the most from these public school teachers refusing to work are impoverished minority kids. The wealthy kids in cities like LA all went back into the classroom a while ago, because they go to private schools that dont tolerate this kind of bullshit... if these teachers actually believe that black lives matter, they need to put importance of educating inner city blacks/latinos over their own fear/selfishness.

^ I could be wrong, but I think it's a small number of teachers, but all the teacher unions, so the teachers themselves just go along with it.

And... what do you think about Universal Basic Education Income?

We should have Universal Basic Education Income

Give each student $14,700 per year

Let them use that money for their assigned government school, or:
• Private school
• Charter school
• Homeschool
• Online learning

Allow the money to follow the child to wherever they receive an education

Fund students instead of systems.

The school districts where these unions are refusing to work should hire scabs to replace them. Hire the scabs permanently and break the unions. Thank goodness the school districts in my area are all non-union and thus the kids have been back in school for a long time. My sister was a long time teacher (now currently a principal) and my wife's brother is a teacher. Both have zero issues having kids back in the classroom. Each of their spouses also work for school districts although neither are teachers (one handles his districts IT and the other is a counselor) and they have no issues being back at work.

As for the last part of your post I fully support school choice although I have not heard of the universal basic education income plan.

I have a hard time supporting the idea of education income considering that education in this country (public mostly... but also lots of private) has been completely overrun by idealogues, libtards, and trannies.

Agree 100%. If the teachers dont want to work, then they shouldnt have to work... they should all be replaced with people who actually want to contribute to society and arent mentally ill

The idea of UBI for education is so the parents/families can choose their education. I don't think we'd get more parents willingly sending their children to be indoctrinated by libtards and trannies than we currently have...

Any ideas on how to improve the K-12 education system?

Unless we overhaul all the schools (public and private) these poor kids are going to get libtard indoctrination no matter where they go. Anyway, as a taxpayer who is already overpaying for shitty public schools, I am not exactly keen on spending more money so that kids can get a shitty private education too...

step 1 would be firing all the degenerates and all the teachers who refuse to teach in person, step 2 would be eliminating every part of the curriculum that was funded by Bill Gates (common core, math is racist, etc)

I don't think it would be spending more money. Isn't it just money following the student instead of following the system?

if thats the case im fine with that... all im sayin is that the problems with lower education in this country go way beyond the distribution of education dollars.
