Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler -who was himself tear-gassed during Antifa riots- is requesting $2 million to help the police department crack down on violent crime after shootings, burglaries, and car theft soared across the city.

“Wheeler said on Thursday that he wants a $2 million fund in order to help police be more active on the streets after Portland has already seen its 20th homicide of the year,” reports The Hill.

Uhhh, $18mill cut from Portland police was proposed but never passed (https://www.opb.org/article/2020/11/05/police-budget-defund-portland-vote/). Their actual budget was $229.5mill, which was being proposed being cut by $18mill but not approved.

So there was no "RE-FUND." The city of Portland already has $229mill budget. Are you saying $229mill isn't enough budget for the police for a single city??

There was a very similar thread for Minneapolis a month ago, which I also posted a question in but no response

Learn how to read beyond the title of an article. Even the title should have told you that there had been a previous budget cut.. "Proposal to further cut Portland Police Bureau budget fails."

If you had read the article, instead of rushing to get a gotcha moment, you would have seen that the budget had already been cut by $15 millions in July and some demanded an additional $18 millions cut in November, which failed.

Depends on the size of the city and the level of crime. I would be more inclined to trust the mayor or the chief of police when it comes to the budget necessary for running their city, than some random guy who doesn't live there and who struggles financially to pay for his own internet.

The police budget was supposed to be $244 millions before shit hit the fans. Now with a reduced budget they had to take on a year of daily riots (which are still ongoing till this day) and overtime pay for its officers.

I stand corrected. Overlooked "further" term and didn't read full article.

No gotcha moment, no opinion on the subject.

The mayor of Portland is asking for more money for the police so they can kill more black guys, despicable shit really. Time to get riled up bladed and not let all the summer demonstrations be for nothing, super spreader events shouldn't be for nothing, right?

Get in the streets and **** the police, no justiiiice no peace!

:oldlol:

appreciate the love, but the idea that any ANTIFA RRR3 look-a-like would ever pose any threat to me is laughable. Thanks to my remote location, my neighbors, my dogs, and Oregons lax gun laws... any ANTIFA that tries to harm me would need to bring an army larger than RRR3s army of ISH alt accounts.

you should still get on that train tho, not to put heads on spikes but to laugh these trannies over some whiskey
