Worse pick than Bowie over MJ. At least Sam had some productive seasons. Was always overrated as a prospect too with his notorious fouling. Great defensive presence but never a lock he'd develop offensively. Lumbering, robotic on offense in the post. Bad passer. Couldn't do the same drop steps and dominate physically in the pros compared to college dudes.

Best case scenario - Houston era Dwight Howard.

one of the best NCAA players of all time, too bad injuries came quick, but we do not what he has in storage thats long

Bit better than Houston Dwight, IMO.

Kwame Brown and Olowokandi were busts. Oden is what could have been.

Calling him a bad pick at all shows an insane lack of intelligence. Calling him one of the worst decisions ever is mind-boggling.

Considering how his career ACTUALLY played in real tea and not a fantasy world it's probably the biggest gap between the 1st and 2nd pick in NBA and maybe sports history so yes it is one of the worst picks ever. Injury or not. In real tea he got injured tough break.

Who cares how his career ACTUALLY played out. Hindsight is 20/20. Drafting the next Shaq/David Robinson/fvcking Bill Russell was the right call. Yes, all of those comps were made.

A freak injury doesn’t make it a bad pick.

Durant, Al Horford and Mike Conley were picked after him link (https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2007.html)

One of the few prospects I was excited about. Thought he would be the next defensive superstar ala Russell, Mourning or atleast Mutombo.

Did you follow him during his lone season in Ohio State? He was not that dominant, Shaq, D-Rob, Ewing, Hakeem, etc. were much more of a force in the college ranks than him. But he was already hyped up since HS and there was no way a team was going to pass up the chance of drafting him.

Why are you on Greg Oden’s dick? That’s like being on...Greg Oden’s dick. The guy lost his body and career and you shit on his scouting report and talent?

Why, just to suck KD’s dick or something?

Is it a freak injury though? He missed his rookie season with one bad knee then I think needed micro fracture on the other and ****ed up his foot too. He had more issues than I think we can attribute to a freak accident.
