You haven't learned anything if you think that cancel culture is only for now. People are getting offended at more and more things as time goes on. Perhaps in the future, it will be offensive if someone wears an expensive watch. People will feel that they are showing off and making them feel inferior. The movement will be Poor Lives Matter or Average Class Lives Matter. And so people will complain if you try to wear anything that makes them feel inferior.
You know at Planet Fitness, you're not allowed to flex and grunt or do anything that makes you look superior. And you can't judge others.
Also, no kissing in many public places. It will offend people who are single. You have to respect people when you're dating. How do you know they won't get jealous?
Also, you won't be allowed to ask anyone what their gender or ethnicity is because that's offensive.
If you wear a shirt that is white, you might be judged.
If you cough, you have to put on your mask.
Anytime someone yells something and are loud, people will call the cops for being offended.
This may think this sounds stupid now. But just watch.

Private businesses can structure their rules however they'd like... that IS freedom. Don't you understand businesses are run be FREE people just like you and I and would rather not be told how to run their business? You want to open a business where people can express themselves in ways that tend to offend people than go ahead make it your business model you are free to do so. Most other people trying to run a business simply play it safe so as to broaden their customer base - simple economics. To say this kind of "cancel culture" implies we are heading in some far more terrible direction is no different than thinking weed is a gateway drug to being addicted to meth.
The only way for things not to be like how they are now with private businesses having freedom is to TAKE AWAY a business owners freedom to choose how they run their business. Is that the kind of thing you call freedom?
