Without Lebron or AD, the Lakers are about equal to the Rockets. I can see the losers winning about 3 out of the next 15 games, putting them OUT of the 8th spot in the West.
It's only 6 games between the 2nd and 9th teams in the West

10 spots now but hopefully they fall far!

Lebron isn't capable of leading a legit lottery team (a team that was lottery the prior year) to the playoffs
He only makes the playoffs with developed, high seeds

Yeah they can easily fall out of playoffs this season. All they need is a 4 game losing streak right now and they are tied with the 8th seed in losses. I think it depends when Anthony Davis returns, if he can return in less then 2 weeks he might be able to save them. If Davis is out for like another month, they are done. We know Lebron is definitely out another month.

The NBA is doing the competition for the 8th seed no? The lakers could fall to the 10th seed and still make it right? not 100% sure on how the play in works
Edit, I believe I am right:

Now, wouldn't it be interesting if the Lakers received a lottery pick and actually got a Top 3 pick.

Keep hoping...until they get the 8th seed and sweep Utah in the 1st round. :oldlol:

The 7th seed has to win 2 more knockout games to make the playoffs?
This shit is ridiculous

2020 - AD, #1 seed
2021 - AD hurt.. TBD
Let's see how far this jinx can go.

If AD really isn't coming back until mid April, then LA could absolutely miss the playoffs.
Not defending their title because of these injuries would be lame.

This team was 0 - 4 without it's two best players, now they lost their best AND 3rd best player
Expect a losing record by the end of next month

Last years Lakers were blowing these teams out with Anthony Davis; James but they had the inside size blocking; scoring.

I think you mean 80% of LeESPN Hype James fans would have nothing to post for about four months. LeHype fans, and Laker fans aren't the same.

And I thought this was finally going to be the year that older LeBron has a MVP level regular season. He hasn't had a MVP level season since 2013, going on 8 years now.

I really do wonder what Pelinka is trying to achieve right now, if anything. Last season the team was was big and assertive. Now it's just...I dunno. Something is very off.

I agree, They had size and were much better last season. KCP was on fire, etc.. The team from last season had a better chance on competing and defending against the Nets, Denver, etc..
The Lakers are just too fragile this season and are falling apart before trying to repeat never mind a three-peat, it will never happen, Lebron is too old now and will never be the same after this injury. Time has caught up with them.

They tried to get more scoring...Schroder, Matthews, Harrell.
In order for them to succed..Kuzma is going to have to start being a 20PPG scorer, and Harrell and Schroder both need to score about 15-19 each.

Yeah. They went too far the other way. Trying to replace defense with more scoring. Schroder is not a bad replacement for Avery Bradley, but they should have kept one of Javale or Dwight. It's nice to have Harrell's scoring punch off the bench, but Marc Gasol looks to be an outright mistake. Let's see what happens after the buyouts. It's not over yet.

Ouch. What a bi-polar, failure of a poster. Straight from the volatile, chemically imbalanced looney bin.
