See here's the thing, these people and their values existed before Trump, the racism, sexism, whatever. What Trump did was make them feel proud and confident acting like this publicly. He was their safety vessel, if the president can act like this then we finally can come out the closet too.

That's why so many people even close friends and family started acting oddly strange, really investing in politics all the sudden, obsessing it. Trump activated that switch to release their disturbing taboo morals they've been stuffing deep down, the socially awkward ones and made them feel good to feel like that.
