100% on point. We are wasting so much money on the military industrial complex. We need to get it down to around $500bn (perhaps $400bn tbh). I am not sold on presidents from either party stepping up to do so. Republicans want to bring military spending up even more while Democrats just want to leave it without doing anything. Such a huge waste...

Awesome. :rockon:

Next up he should do the War on Coronavirus-2019. So far the spending bills alone cost $6.6T ($20,000 per American, including children).

Fareed Zakaria and CNN are a little late to the game here...

They didn't want to point this out 10 years ago?

biggest ongoing scam.

No, but it is without dispute top three and up there near the top. I'll leave it to you and your life experiences to figure out number one and two.

With global communication and modernization, support for random wars against poor foreigners will continuously decrease. War is probably not on the menu for the Great Reset. Presumably that is why CNN will begin to acknowledge it, to begin shifting public opinion.

Ofc, a big spending, big fear spreading establishment still provides tremendous value to those in charge. We’re already seeing the implementation of a replacement - the Medical Industrial Complex.

A system whose concocted pretexts and establishment propaganda have been bought hook, line and sinker by the generic public writ large, aka the usual suspects.

Hi, bladefd.

Sup dude.

@diamenz

This clip, btw, happens because the Republicans are pushing for increasing the military budget and using China as their reason.

Democrats = Russia conspiracy theorists
Republicans = China conspiracy theorists

As usual, Republicans are a bit closer to the truth, but dumber.

The clip is there to give some of the honest Left crowd (Kyle in the clip) some cover to oppose the Military Industrial Complex. Of course, no meaningful push to reduce the size of the MIC will come out of it, but leftists like that Kyle guy in the clip (and some of the honest Right crowd) will give Fareed a ton of credit.

Remember pre-Iraq war? The media was pushing for a War in Iraq with WMD propaganda all over the place. Once Bush got us into the war, they began to shift their narrative
to anti-war. It's very similar to the War on Coronavirus. The media was able to brainwash people into believing Trump was completely overreacting in Jan/Feb with his 'racist/xenophobic travel bans', then they really got people brainwashed (bladefd, falc9, TheMan, Rufus, ItsMillerTime, jasper, Lakers Legend, scuzzy, etc) into thinking that somehow Trump was fighting back against his own Natl State of Emergency and his own team's social distancing/mask guidelines. Lol.

well, whether there actually are ulterior motives behind fareed's monologue or not, it's still refreshing to see something on msm going against the grain, at least where things stand atm on the subject anyway. if their narrative does indeed end up shifting (i really don't see that happening - not on the subject of the MIC and actually ACTIVELY pushing to call out the endless wars and bring troops home) that would really be something to see, and i'll be the first one to say you called it.

you're right about iraq... but the media never actually seriously got into the details about what goes on behind the scenes and calling out the bullshit on a consistent basis. so while they advocated for bringing troops home in the moment, they never went into topics like why we have hundreds of military bases throughout the world, or why we feel the need to police the world.

trump and covid is a whole other story... of course liberal media smeared him in every way possible, but honestly NOBODY had any idea of what to do at the time and how serious or not the virus actually was and what potential it had going forward. but once that WAS clear (beginning-ish of summer?) as you always say and i agree with you that it should have changed to focused protection for the most vulnerable, and careful complete reopening of the country.

so anyway, what i'm saying in a nutshell is that even if msm advocates to pull out of iraq & afghanistan, they won't actively talk about our bloated military budget and power centers throughout the world... which means we're only eventually headed to MORE forever wars in the long run. fareed did a good job of actually laying things down in a pretty specific manner.
