Can't help but feel bad for this dude. You can really tell he didn't want to be traded. He'd rather be in a losing Toronto team than play in Portland. Listen to his voice crack at the 2:55 mark.

I just watched his postgame interview. Toronto best city in the world. Playing for the Raptors hits different. You got an entire country rooting for you. We love him and wish all the best. He's a champion and a true professional. I'm truly hurt that he's hurt, but it's the business part of the game.

How much more is he able to get in FA compared to Trent?

This was a dumb trade IMO...

We got 3 guys getting paid 20+ million/max deal in Lowry, Siajam and FVV. It is a great trade for both parties. We are not trying to win this year.

Masai messed up though. I thought Lowry was going for a rental and then we will sign him again once the free agency market opens up.

Your city only has 2 subway lines for 7 million people. Your rental and especially property prices are insane (especially for such a shit city) and nobody can afford to buy considering your average income is more or less the same as it was 20 years ago. You have ONE place to show tourists that they'd be genuinely interested in (Distillery District), your nightlife is over at 2am since drinks cannot be served passed that (what a joke) however even before Covid, there was no nightlife because your city has a major hard-on for replacing clubs with condos everywhere (Guvernment was great) and generally speaking... the people in Toronto think way too highly of themselves.

Your city is trash. The only saving grace for Toronto is it's restaurant scene; it's actually good.

Property prices are high for a reason. Because there is a huge demand to live here.

If your property values are low that just means nobody wants to live in the city. Simple as that.

I remember Jose Calderon did something similar as well.

Raptors is so much like a 2nd family, the business part of pro basketball always makes it a bit complicate.

Unfortunately, masai doesn't pay attention to their feelings.
