[Wojnarowski] The Lakers have emerged as a strong frontrunner to sign free agent center Andre Drummond, sources tell ESPN.

[Wojnarowski] LA's stars have been recruiting Drummond hard, and Lakers' situation offers him a chance to step into the starting lineup at center. Drummond is progressing toward finalizing that decision soon, sources said.

Gasol, Davis, Drummond and Trez.
Lakers will have the center position on lock.
If any contender signs Drummond ISH will pretend he’s good lol. He might be good if he took a Capela role but he hasn’t so far.

Will he be elevated to Larry Bird/Magic Johnson status, like Chris Bosh was?

He needs to revert to how he played in his first two seasons in the league. Lower usage rate, prioritizing 0-3ft shot attempts.
I think -- best case scenario -- he can bring above average rim running, above average paint protection, and elite rebounding.

If LeCruit can pull this off he needs to be in consideration for exec of the year

That's great.
Anyone whining about this is a little bitch boy.
Teams should be doing their best to win instead of doing any of that tanking BS.

If this happens, I wonder how Drummond will feel about Lebron stealing his defensive rebounds.

He knows best.

drummond's a fool's gold
statpads rebounds (doesn't actually help rebounding team wise), can't shoot, is incredibly turnover prone and finishes like a 12 years old girl (50% TS on the season, that would have already been bad 20 years)

Drummond on a vet team can be a good player. This move essentially means to me that AD has zero desire to be a center unless its 2nd round down the playoffs.
Drummond rim runs and rebounds great. Live with him doing 2 iso plays a half and make sure hes locked in

Yeah but I mean it’s not an addition that’s going to hurt. Much higher chance he helps playing alongside Bron/AD. Doesn’t have too do much.

He may end up being bad, but it's hard to judge him based on his past, because up until now he's pretty much been the #1 guy on a team his entire career. We've yet to see how he will be as the #3 guy. Draymond Green is a crap first option, even years ago when he was at his best. But he's one of the best #3 guys in history.

I think Drummond will be #4 option with Lakers behind LeBron, Davis and Schroeder. He just has to rebound, defend and do put backs/alley oops.
