I think this Nick Bolton Missouri LB is suppose to be a for sure 2nd rounder
was hoping the Cowboys could maybe pick him up in that round if we don't get Parsons at #10... but we are definitely in need of a DE.

Dylan Mosses? Alabama MLB
he could go in the 2nd round as well.

Dylan Moses was a 2018 Second-Team All-SEC and All-American honoree. He was poised to be a first-round talent in the 2020 NFL Draft before he suffered a knee injury that ended his season before it started. But he returned for the 2020 season in full form and earned All-American & All-SEC first-team honors and won the Mayo Clinic Comeback player of the Year.
Moses is an elite athlete with the versatility to play both inside and outside. He’s quick to read and react and plays with great sideline-to-sideline range. Moses has all the tools to be a real difference maker on any NFL front-seven, but he will have to disprove concerns about health following two seasons that have been shortened or missed due to injury.

Clemson offensive lineman Jackson Carman enters the NFL after serving as Trevor Lawrence’s blindside protector for the last two-plus seasons in college—a role he filled quite well. Carman is a massive and powerful blocker that thrives in the run game and holds his own in pass protection. His power is notable, but he moves well for his size and features strong hand technique that he blends with a strong feel for his role in the scheme that makes him an effective blocker. Where Carman shows signs of struggles is when he is tasked with speed off the edge. In those moments, Carman is often beat to his landmarks and he struggles to recover. Should that be problematic at the next level, a move to guard will be required and Carman’s skill set suggests it’s a transition he could handle—and perhaps he can perform even better on the inside. Carman has the makings of a quality starter at the next level, but his team will need to figure out the right spot for him to grow and develop at.

Tyson Campbell aligns at cornerback for the Bulldogs defense. He plays the position with very good athleticism overall, as evidenced by his agility and short-area quickness. He has the NFL body type and frame teams covet for the position. When combined with his movement skills and length, it is easy to see why this player would be intriguing to NFL scouts. He has very good man coverage ability, but struggles with situational awareness. He remained healthy in 2020, which worked to answer durability concerns. However, when on the field, he has struggled to consistently make plays in the passing game.
Ideal Role: Starting outside (only) corner in sub-packages.
Scheme Fit: A team that implores press coverage and sprinkles in some zone. Would probably make more plays playing off and in a predominantly zone scheme.

Jamin Davis projects as a WILL linebacker at the NFL level and appears to have the ceiling of an NFL starter. Davis is long, rangy, and explosive and that correlated to several big plays in the passing game throughout the course of Kentucky’s 2020 campaign. Davis exploded onto the scene in 2020 and wasted little time making the leap to the NFL, but his lack of high volume sample size as a featured player is cause for buyer beware. There’s plenty of untapped potential in Davis’ game and his length flashes to deconstruct blocks while he also showcases the processing power after the snap to duck under blocks and spill opposing ball-carriers into pursuit. But he has yet to master a feel of scraping through traffic and his overall quickness and confidence in decision-making leaves the door open for confident passers and ball-carriers to exploit small creates caused by his delay. Davis has very good range and long speed that will draw the attention of NFL decision-makers—as second-level speed is at a premium right now due to league trends.
Ideal Role: Developmental WILL linebacker.
Scheme Fit: 4-3.

Trey Hill, C/G, 6'4" 330 llbs
https://s3media.247sports.com/Uploads/Assets/203/861/8861203.jpg
Trey Hill played center for the Bulldogs' offense. He has started games aligning at guard as well. In the run game, he comes off the ball hard. He is heavy at the point of attack and plays with good natural leverage. As a result, he is hard to bull rush. Although he plays with very good power in a phone booth, his limited agility shows when he has to move and engage. This is at the second level with regards to run blocking, and also when he has to be reactive to games as a pass blocker. He’s somewhat heavy-footed and probably best suited at guard where he can focus on his run or pass blocking.
Ideal Role: Swing interior OL.

Rashad Weaver, DE, Pittsburgh, 6'4 265 lbs
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EAH1oOyWwAcox05.jpg
After logging 47 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in 2018, Pittsburgh EDGE Rashad Weaver missed the entire 2019 season with a knee injury. Picking up where he left off, Weaver collected 34 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in nine games in 2020. Weaver is a long and powerful defensive end that has upside in the NFL as both a 5-technique in a 3-4 defense or as a base end in a 4-3 defense. As a pass rusher, Weaver has sufficient rush variety and his length is a major asset. With that said, he lacks burst and flexibility and he’s a slow-burn rusher, which limits his ceiling at the next level. As a run defender, Weaver is a good processor and is capable of squeezing gaps. He would benefit from adding functional strength to hold up better against drive blocks and he has to be more careful committing to inside gaps and being more mindful of his modest flexibility and lateral mobility to avoid getting cornered by the ball-carrier on outside runs. Perhaps another year removed from the knee injury will reveal a more dynamic athletic profile, but Weavers projects as a rotational defender in the NFL.
Ideal Role: Rotational defensive end.
Scheme Fit: 4-3 base end, 5-technique in odd fronts.

Syracuse safety Andre Cisco’s college career will be remembered for the frequent splash plays he made on the football that resulted in 13 interceptions and 14 pass breakups in just 24 games. He’s a ball magnet and his ability to take away the football makes him an appealing prospect. Not only is he a ballhawk, but Cisco’s size and athleticism are also both plus traits. Unfortunately, Cisco’s game tape reveals several notable warts. While his ball production is exciting, he is a freelancer in coverage that is always looking for the big play, but that results in far too many blown coverages. In addition, Cisco is inconsistent when it comes to run fills, tackling, mirroring routes in man, and anticipating routes in zone. From a technique standpoint, Cisco has considerable room for growth. Further complicating Cisco’s valuation is the lower-body injury he suffered in September. He collided with a teammate during pregame warm-ups on Sept. 26 against Georgia Tech, which ended his season. Cisco has all of the tools needed to grow and become an impact starter in the NFL, but notable development is needed for him to reach his ceiling.
Ideal Role: Starting free safety that plays primarily in deep alignments.
Scheme Fit: Single-high and split-zone safety.

Joe Tryon aligned as an edge defender for the Huskies' defense. He typically will rush from an up or down position with equal effectiveness. He has excellent reactive athleticism with regards to body control and agility for a young man his size. He is a loose-hipped athlete who demonstrates fluidity when he plays on his feet. Setting the edge in the NFL will be no issue for this player. He is explosive off the edge and projects with elite upside with pro coaching. He has true schematic versatility in that he can be an outside LB in an odd front scheme or can gain weight and be a 4-3 defensive end.
Ideal Role: Starting NFL OLB in a 3-4 defense.
Scheme Fit: He has the skill set to play in any scheme, but a defense with hybrid principles will effectively utilize his skill set.

https://thebrawlnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/gettyimages-1230095097-594x594-1.jpg
Jabril Cox enjoyed a standout high school career where he played multiple positions and starred in both football and basketball but didn’t receive much interest coming out as a recruit. He spent three seasons at North Dakota State where he was outstanding. After being named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2017, Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, and being a two-time FCS All-American, Cox opted to level up and compete in the SEC before entering the NFL. Cox is an outstanding coverage linebacker that thrives in space. He is terrific in both man and zone coverage, making him an ideal matchup linebacker that can handle tight ends, running backs, and some slot receivers. He has terrific range, mobility, and his motor always runs hot. When it comes to areas of concern for Cox, run defense, playing through contact, and being consistent with being an assignment-sound defender are the primary areas that need growth. Cox profiles as a productive NFL starter that brings a rare coverage skill set to the table.
Ideal Role: Pursuit-style linebacker that can play man coverage.
Scheme Fit: 4-3.

Chazz Surratt came to North Carolina to play quarterback, where he started seven games as a redshirt freshman in 2017 and entered 2018 as the Tar Heels’ starter. His 2018 season was delayed, however, because of a four-game suspension because he sold team-issued sneakers. When he returned to the lineup, Surratt completed 4-of-10 passes for 10 yards and three interceptions before injuring his wrist, which required season-ending surgery. When his wrist healed and he was ready to return to the field, discussions between Surratt and then-head coach Larry Fedora began regarding a switch to the defensive side of the football. Surratt considered a transfer to another university to continue as a quarterback but he met with newly hired head coach Mack Brown regarding his status with the program and he decided to stay. Surratt made it clear to Brown that it was his goal to play in the NFL and both agreed his best course was to make the transition to linebacker. Surratt’s first year at linebacker was in 2019 and he was outstanding. Appearing in all 13 games with 11 starts, Surratt was a First-Team All-ACC selection and runner-up for ACC Defensive Player of the Year. With 115 tackles, Surratt led the Tar Heels and finished second in the ACC with 88 tackles per game. Surratt logged 15 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and 10 quarterback hurries. He took another step forward in 2020, becoming more polished when it comes to coverage drops, pursuit angles, and tackling. Surratt is an exciting package of size, mobility, and physicality, but there are times studying his tape when you are reminded that he is still new to the position. Surratt will need to continue developing at the position and if he does, he has the makings of a starting pursuit-style linebacker that can make plays on every down.
Ideal Role: Pursuit-style 4-3 outside linebacker that brings value on every down.
Scheme Fit: 4-3 outside linebacker.

I think drafting Morris Claiborne has made me not ever want to draft a CB in the 1st again. Also taking Diggs in the 2nd worked out, he's a quality CB we landed later on.
That said, we need a CB...can NEVER have enough CBs really. So it's probably the correct move to take Surtain

I see Daniel Jerimiah has Sewell ranked in the 10-15 range on his new updated rankings.
Slater is I believe 8th.
Chase is #3 and Pitts is #2 overall.
Daniel is pretty plugged in, if he has Sewell there it's probably what other teams have him as. Surprising considering the amount of once in generation hype on him.
It makes me believe the Dolphins are taking either Chase or Pitts. Whichever one Bengals don't take. I'm seeing they like Chase, reuniting Burrow with him.

I got some more prospects coming...
Ronnie Perkins, Edge, OU, 6'3" 253 lbs
https://expandtheboxscore.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Ronnie-Perkins.png
Perkins was a top-75 overall recruit from Lutheran North High School in St. Louis when he signed with the Sooners. He excelled in his first year in Norman, earning Freshman All-American accolades after leading his squad with five sacks (among 37 stops, eight for loss) while playing in all 14 games with eight starts. Perkins was named a second-team All-Big 12 pick as a sophomore, racking up 38 tackles, 13.5 for loss, with six sacks in 13 starts. He was suspended for the team's playoff game against eventual champion LSU, however, after reportedly failing a drug test. That suspension continued for the first five games of the 2020 season, but he still garnered second-team all-conference accolades by posting 24 tackles, 10.5 for loss, with 5.5 sacks in six games (five starts).

https://crockerreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/092f33eb-978b-4393-a353-1a50cbe3961f.jpg
Chatarius "Tutu" Atwell is the son of one of the top receivers in University of Minnesota football history. The younger Tutu started for four years at famed Miami Northwestern High School, winning Miami-Dade County Player of the Year as a senior quarterback. Louisville put him to work immediately, giving him two starts in 12 games (24 receptions, 406 yards, 16.9 average, two touchdowns). Atwell became a top playmaker in 2019, garnering first-team All-ACC honors after leading the conference with 1,276 receiving yards and 12 receiving TDs on his 70 catches (18.2 per). He also rushed eight times for 29 yards (3.6 per) and returned four punts for 84 yards (21.0 per). Atwell repeated first-team all-conference accolades in 2020 (46 receptions, 625 yards, 13.6 average, team-high seven TDs), playing in nine games with seven starts before opting out to begin preparing for the NFL draft.

Positives: Moved into the starting lineup as a redshirt freshman in 2019 after Patrick Taylor was injured, then opted out of the 2020 season. Explosive and creative ball carrier who is also a solid pass catcher. Quick, creative, and plays with balance. Sets up defenders then makes them miss, keeps the play in bounds, and works to pick up positive yardage.
Has a burst through the hole, immediately gets to top speed, and has enough speed to turn the corner. Quick-footed with a nice stutter step, deceptively strong, and runs with excellent lean. Possesses good vision, uses blocks everywhere on the field, and consistently finds the running lanes. Terrific receiver out of the backfield and also effectively lined up in the slot. Picks up blocking assignments and stays with the action.
Negatives: Possesses average size and won’t be able to handle a lot of carries in the NFL. Has a very small body of work at the college level.

Rondale Moore should be considered one of the 2021 NFL Draft’s most electric prospects, but he’s also one of the biggest wildcards in the process. When healthy, Moore is a multi-purpose weapon who can break open a football game with any touch of the football; he’s provided run after catch, special teams plays, rushing usage out of the backfield, and vertical receiving over the middle of the field. There isn’t a lot that Moore cannot do. But Moore, for all of his merits and gifts as an athlete, has endured significant durability issues throughout his three years at Purdue, and any NFL team drafting him is effectively doing so based on the play he put on display in 2018 as a true freshman when he arrived on the scene in a big way and embarrassed Ohio State on his way to becoming a household name. Moore has played in just seven football games over the last two seasons on account of injuries, leaving durability as a major red flag that must be vetted—and even then may be a disqualifier for some when pairing that with his stature. Not dissimilar to how the process treated Colorado’s Laviska Shenault in 2020, Moore may be a victim of his own versatility and medical flags and be pegged as simply an offensive weapon by some teams, watering down his draft-day value. If you could guarantee you’ll get your hands on a fully healthy Moore, you’re getting a game-breaker who may win you a handful of football games by individual efforts in any season—he’s that dynamic. But the tightrope act that whichever team selects him must walk is balancing as big of a role as possible for him without exposing him to the wear and tear that will routinely cut his season short.
Ideal Role: Swiss Army knife; return specialist with a rotational role in the offensive game plan.
Scheme Fit: Spread offense with a creative play-caller.

https://expandtheboxscore.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Dan-Moore-Jr..png
Dan Moore Jr. (6'5" 315lbs) is a well-experienced player as he’s started in 36 of the 43 contests that he’s participated in—that includes 35 straight games. Possessing a top-heavy frame overall, he has the strength necessary in order to latch and sustain when getting his hands on cleanly to defenders, but must gain significant amounts of strength in his lower half. With long arms, adequate grip strength, and an average pass set, he has a solid foundation of traits to continue to build upon. He still needs seasoning in certain areas, but he already has a lot of the ingredients in the cupboard that are waiting to be put to good use. The intensity and awareness are evident as a run blocker, as he displays lots of willingness with sticking on assignments. With average foot speed, his pass sets will need to be tweaked some as he has troubles with ends that are able to quickly win the corner against him by attacking his outside hip. A favorable project for teams that employ a zone-based blocking scheme, Moore is a multi-year experiment that could pay off in the long run with a lot of patience while developing.
Ideal Role: Developmental offensive tackle that will need some time on the practice squad prior to potentially becoming a contributor.

50.Jevon Holland
S Oregon
https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-draft-who-s-the-best-defensive-player-in-this-year-s-class
Maurice Jones-Drew: This might not be the most popular pick, but it's the right one. The best defensive guy in this draft class is Oregon safety Jevon Holland. He's a versatile talent who can play cornerback, nickel, safety and sub linebacker, and there's a good chance he has the best ball skills in the draft. Holland is big, fast, strong and agile, everything you need to lay the booooom but also secure the tackle at safety. With the emergence of dominant tight ends around the league, a player like Holland has a ton of value.

Positives: Dominant left tackle prospect who had his 2019 campaign cut short by injury then chose to opt out last season. Tall, athletic, and displays terrific footwork in pass protection. Intelligent, displays terrific vision, and quickly picks up stunts or blitzes. Active with his hands, keeps his feet moving, and keeps his head on a swivel. Smooth and fluid pulling across the line of scrimmage, easily moves around the field, and possesses great blocking range. Quick to the second level, redirects to linebackers and works blocks.
Negatives: Must improve his run blocking. Overextends into blocks on occasion. More of a finesse blocker than an overpowering lineman.
Analysis: Little was already a highly-considered left tackle prospect entering the 2019 season until his year was cut short by injury after the first game. He possesses the size, mobility, and footwork necessary to play left tackle in the NFL, but Little must get his game back on track and show little rust after two years away from the field.

With the draft steadily approaching it is time to move on from profiling cornerbacks to another position of need, the interior of the defensive line. On Thursday the club made two veteran acquisitions in Carlos Watkins and Brent Urban. The Cowboys are lacking a dearth of star power in this area. Currently penned in for the roster are Neville Gallimore (second year), Trysten Hill (third year) and three-year starter Antwaun Woods.
Gallimore and Hill were high upside, Day 2 selections. Hill flashed some in Year 2 but an ACL injury wrecked his season before he could make serious strides. Gallimore was solid in his rookie year and is looking to make a splash in his sophomore season. Both Hill and Gallimore are pass-rush specialists which could lead the team to look for a run-stuffer at some point in the draft. Enter Alim McNeill out of North Carolina State, who could be the answer to the problem.
https://s3media.247sports.com/Uploads/Assets/67/127/10127067.jpg
A high school linebacker and running back, Alim McNeill has developed nicely at defensive tackle where he only has three years of experience. While there is some rawness that shows up to his game when it comes to technique and processing skills, McNeill is a powerful interior defender that is capable of controlling and resetting the line of scrimmage with his heavy hands and functional strength. While he wasn’t often asked to shoot gaps, he also has positive flashes of gap-penetration skills during his time at NC State. There is room for McNeill to grow as a pass rusher, but as it stands, his variety of rush moves and rush plan is underdeveloped. For a team in need of a short-yardage and early-down run stuffer that has a ceiling to develop into a more effective pass rusher, McNeill is a terrific mid-round option.
Ideal Role: Run-stuffing defensive lineman that has some appeal to push the pocket on passing downs.
Scheme Fit: 3-4 nose tackle, 4-3 1-technique.

Elijah Molden played cornerback for the Huskies defense and aligns mostly inside. Overall, he demonstrates the athleticism to be a highly effective coverage player from the nickel slot. He’s a little undersized by ideal NFL measurables, but would suffice as an NFL slot. He is a willing tackler in the run game, so there are no reservations there. In the passing game, he excels. He plays with rare level instincts which allows him to bait quarterbacks inside and make plays. He doesn’t have elite play speed for a smaller cornerback, but his instincts help to cover his deficiencies.
Ideal Role: Starting caliber NFL nickel slot.
Scheme Fit: Any system that can creatively take advantage of his instincts and talent inside.

Aligning mostly as the Z receiver predominantly to the right side only, Wallace has been a prolific option in the team's offense. An offense with mostly Air Raid principles, his responsibilities were limited to a select few when running routes on the perimeter. Possessing average speed, his most explosive plays have come on vertical 50-50 balls where he could show his competitiveness and determination by attacking the ball out of the air. Also asked to perform routes in the short areas, he was a frequent target on the backside of run-pass options. Wallace’s talents were a bit hidden as a route-runner due to the fixated approach of required routes within the scheme, but he’s been able to show off his unique hand-eye coordination specifically at the catch point.

Has excellent length, moves well about the field, and moves fluidly if asked to twist or stunt. Strong, displays the ability to push blockers off the line, and stays with the action.
Negatives: Not a great natural pass rusher and does not show much speed off the edge. Possesses an average closing burst.
Analysis: Turner was consistently productive for Houston and has both size as well as growth potential. He’s a developmental prospect who could eventually grow into a defensive tackle in a four-man line.
Payton Turner Player Profile
Versatility can be a double-edged sword, and Payton Turner has experienced that firsthand. Coming out of high school, Turner was a 6-foot-5, 217-pound defensive end. His height and length set him apart from most high school prospects. However, with his lacking frame, on top of a knee injury suffered in his senior season, Turner didn’t get a ton of looks from Power Five schools.
Turner was a mere two-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting class on 247 Sports’ board. Luckily, being from Houston, Texas, Turner had proximity to the Houston Cougars program. Turner committed to the Cougars in February of 2017 and enrolled later that year. He didn’t arrive with much fanfare, but he left as one of their most impactful defenders.

If we draft Surtain or Horn at #10, and then get a Safety like Jevon Holland at #44... our secondary will be completely set for the next 3 years.
We have the Strong Safety position filled in 2021 with Donovan Wilson (2 years) & Keanu Neal (1 year) (they plan on using Neal at LB too)
Free Safety spot in 2021 would be Darian Thompson (1 year) and Javon Holland (can also play CB) (4 years)... those 4 players at safety would give me hope.
Cornerbacks: Diggs(3 years), Surtain/Horn (4 years), J.Lewis (2-3 years), A.Brown (1 year)
Diggs, Surtain/Horn, and J.Lewis for the next 3 years sounds like a safe bet.... we add a guy like J.Holland in the 2nd round and DBs are set for most of the Dak era.
Dallas Cowboys 2021 Draft Picks
Round 1: No. 10 - P.Surtain - CB
Round 2: No. 44 - J.Holland - S
Round 3: No. 75 -
Round 3: No. 99 -
Round 4: No. 115 -
Round 4: No. 138 -
Round 5: No. 179 -
Round 6: No. 192 -
Round 6: No. 227 -
Round 7: No. 238 -
^ need to find one defensive play maker for the front 7 out of these 8 picks. Just one. DE/DT/LB
We are going to put a lot of faith in Randy Gregory, D-Law, J.Smith, and LVE by doing this, but it will give our secondary a year to develop.
We could draft Parsons, and maybe sign Richard Sherman to a one year deal... and that could keep the defensive competitive for the 2021 secondary, but addressing the secondary now, for the long term, might be the best path to take.
going into 2022 Season:
CB - Surtain/Horn
CB - Diggs
CB - Lewis
S - Wilson
S - J.Holland
LB - J.Smith
DE - D-Law
DT - Galimore / T.Hill
Defensive Holes to fill in 2022:
DE - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
DT - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
LB - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
LB - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
(possibly resign LVE or Gregory)
There are some solid edge rushers that might slip to the second round, maybe a semi decent defensive lineman, but if a safety like Holland is there... you take him, and prepare him for the war of 22'
I think we'll end up finding another solid DE and LB for the 22 season, but we really need that star Defensive Tackle which I doubt we'll ever find in the Dak era.

Starting to think the Cowboys should go with R.Slater #10 (round 1)... if he's available (which he probably won't be) and only if our staff is confident in his ability.
There is a Predator in DC, and we need to ensure that he's stopped... along with other predators like him.
We drafted Tyron Smith with the 9th pick in 2011 and it worked out pretty good for us.
So if this kid is someone that can give us 8 or 9 years of Left Tackle Dominance, we need to go that route.
going into the 2021 season it would be: T.Smith - L.Collins - Center - Z.Martin - R.Slater .... with some decent back-ups.
Tyron Smith started at RT his rookie year.

Need to give Dak time to throw passes to Lamb, Cooper, and Gallup.

We have an updated draft order for the first round.
Baltimore will be taking KC's 1st rounder.
Kansas City gets:
OT Orlando Brown
2021 second-round pick (No. 58)
2022 6th round pick.
Baltimore gets:
2021 first-round pick (No. 31)
third-round pick (No. 94)
fourth-round pick (No. 136)
2022 fifth-round pick
Baltimore drafted Orlando Brown in the 3rd round (pick #83) in 2018.

these two didn't live up to the value of the 8th pick of the 2002 draft, and 5th pick of the 2003 draft.
Parcells said himself you should never draft a CB that high... and wasn't happy with himself making that pick w/ T.Newman.
Cowboys could've had Ed Reed in 2002 and Troy Polamalu in 2003... that would've been the greatest duo at safety of all time.

Yea... I missed the memo that the 49ers have narrowed it down to Jones or Lance... it's possible they could go with Lance, but yea, looking like Jones is the pick.
put Kwity Paye at #25 going to Jax... and I'd feel pretty confident those will be the top 25 players drafted (not in that order).

We can use that pick (#70) to potentially trade back up... need to find a DT, DE, CB, S in that order.
Now that we have Parsons, We need that dominate defensive tackle... may have to sign a vet DT in free agency next year.

Jabril Cox, LB, LSU, 6'3 233 lbs
https://thebrawlnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/gettyimages-1230095097-594x594-1.jpg
I really like our 4th round pick... good piece to add knowing LVE will most likely get injured.

The Cowboys aren't going to pick up LVE's contract option for his fifth year. Spinal stenosis is not something that gets better over time. They'll be looking to move Jaylon Smith as well, though his contract makes it likely they'll be stuck with him for a couple more seasons. So it's likely that in two seasons, the Cowboys will go from having the best linebacking corp in the game (LVE, Smith, Lee) to having all those guys either gone or stuck on the bench.

Detroit Lions draft and team make up is starting to look like the Colts... Powerful game in the trenches, good rushing attack, both teams desperately need a WR and have new QB's going into 2021.
The low key steal was Lions getting Sewell. Him along with Ragnow and Decker. They could have the best o-line in the league. If Rodgers gets traded Lions could be the division favorite.
Detroit Lions’ 2021 NFL Draft class:
Round 1, Pick 7 — OT Penei Sewell
Round 2, Pick 9 (41) — DT Levi Onwuzurike
Round 3, Pick 8 (72) — DT Alim McNeill
Round 3, Pick 38 (101) — CB Ifeatu Melifonwu
Round 4, Pick 7 (112) — WR Amon-Ra St. Brown
Round 4, Pick 8 (113) — LB Derrick Barnes
Round 7, Pick 30 (257) — RB Jermar Jefferson
Lions went for the right pieces... if their #3 pick from last year Okudah can be a stud at CB like he's suppose to be, and T. J. Hockenson steps up a notch and becomes a great TE (along with Swift at RB), they would just need to add a few wide receivers, maybe another defensive weapon, and Goff could lead this team to the playoffs in 2022. It's possible they could do something this year, but they really don't have $hit at WR. Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman isn't enough... maybe they can get by with WR being their week spot. Kerryon Johnson for 21' and Jamal Williams for 21' & 22' is pretty good insurance/back up for Swift.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/detroit-lions/breshad-perriman-16750/
The first pick in round #1 next year for Lions & Colts should be a WR, and top free agent target should be best WR available... Although we'll have to see what Michael Pittman Jr. can do, he could still be a potential badass, idk. (still got TY Hilton for 21' season / 1 year $8 mil)
Buckner w/ Kwity & Q.Nelson w/ J.Taylor will make the Colts tough to play each week, very good pieces to build around.

I was just looking at that contract... $hit is ridiculous but I think he'll play better this year.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/jaylon-smith-18982/
Jaylon Smith signed a 6 year, $68,421,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including a $5,000,000 signing bonus, $35,406,678 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $11,403,500.
I agree, LVE will probably be done after this year, so I'm glad we picked up 2 line backers in this draft... may have to find another one in 2022, but I think Jaylen will be on the team 2 or 3 more years, that's just too much money to give up on.

Colts will mortgage off LT to next year's draft. This year, my hope is to sign Fisher/Villaneuva/Okung on a 1yr deal. Then we can use our 1st next year to draft an LT.
But you might be right too. We can get 1 of those 3 LTs on a 2yr deal and go for WR next year to replace TY Hilton.
Ultimately, I'm not a fan of drafting based on need - I prefer getting the best player available. I would use 1st rounder depending on who falls in draft and the biggest talent on the board. I never expected Paye to drop so I felt it was the perfect choice that also met our needs at DE. That doesn't usually happen.

DT - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
LB - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
LB - 21' draft, 22' FA & 22' draft
Thought we were gonna get Surtain/Horn and target a safety.
So now it looks like:
going into 2022 Season:
CB - K.Joseph
CB - Diggs
CB - Lewis
S - D.Wilson
LB - J.Cox
LB - M.Parsons
LB - J.Smith
DE - D-Law
DE - D. Armstrong / C.Golston / B. Anae
DT - N. Galimore / T.Hill
DT - Osa Odighizuwa / Quinton Bohanna
Defensive Line still looks like $hit... We need to put all our focus on Defensive and Offensive Line in the 22' off season
Key players lost after 2021:
CB A.Brown
DE R.Gregory
LB LVE
SS K.Neal
DT A.Woods
WR M.Gallup
OT T.Smith
TE D.Shultz
Team Needs in 2022
1. OT
2. DE
3. DT
4. Safety
5. Guard
6. TE
7. Center
Contracts restructured in 2022: D-Law ($10 mil), A.Cooper ($5 mil), J.Smith ($5 mil), Zeke ($5 mil), B Jarwin ($3 mil)
Tyron Smith: Retired or cut (save $5.5 mil)
Restructure Dak's contract in 2023 and hope that the salary cap limit is raised significantly higher
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/cap/2022/
cap already showing us to be negative $36 million going into 2022, but overall I like our team going into 2021...
Next year's off season:
• Restructure Several Contracts
• Trade up in draft and ensure we get stud Offensive Lineman
• Find mid-round edge rusher, safety and tight end
• Sign veteran defensive tackle with any remaining cap space

You definitely need an Offensive Tackle... should probably go after Fisher since the cap space is there to do it. Maybe get him on a 2-3 year deal.
Colts will have some roster spots to fill after 2021... Just need to fix that tackle situation, find an elite WR, resign Leonard & Rhodes, and maybe another DE opposite Kwity
2022 FAs.
Davante Adams
Courtland Sutton
Dj Chark
Michael Gallup
Robert Woods
You will probably have to go after one those 4 guys to play opposite Pittman Jr. Good luck getting Davante, but Sutton, DJ Chark, Woods or Gallup wouldn't be horrible.
Sign one of those guys... And if there's a offensive weapon in the draft next year that can contribute as a rookie, trade up... Wentz might be able to take the Colts somewhere in year 2.
2022 WRs:
1. Pittman Jr.
2. DJ Chark or Courtland Sutton or Micahel Gallup
3. 2022 rounds 1-3 pick
4. Parris Campbell
wouldn't be horrible for Wentz if you can also hit on that 22' WR draft pick or maybe upgrade at TE.

Colts need to get Justin Houston resigned.
Matthew Judon, Shaquil Barrett, Yannick Ngakoue and Bud Dupree all got paid this spring with multi-year deals. None of them had more sacks than Justin Houston did with the Indianapolis Colts last year.
At 31 years old, Houston couldn't have expected to get paid like those guys, but his eight sacks in 2020 showed his value as a pass-rusher. Houston's pressure percentage isn't what it used to be and indicates a decline in sacks is likely coming, but there's no one on the market who can match his production.
The former Chiefs and Colts pass-rusher might not have the same burst and athleticism that made him an elite player but he clearly has the savvy and technique to still get after quarterbacks as part of a rotation.
Someone like the Atlanta Falcons could use Houston in their rotation. The Falcons are still hoping Dante Fowler figures things out and didn't utilize one of their early picks on a defensive end. Houston would have more than doubled any edge defender in sacks last season.
The Colts could ultimately decide they aren't done with the veteran. They drafted Kwity Paye, but the rookie would benefit from having a veteran like Houston on the roster who can help him maximize his prodigious physical gifts.
The New York Giants stand out as another possibility. They just drafted Azeez Olujari in the second round but, like Kwity Paye, he might not be ready to be the No. 1 pass-rusher out of the gate. Taking a high-floor player like Houston could actually improve their respective rookie seasons.

The Cleveland Browns made Sheldon Richardson a late addition to the free agency pool, but that had more to do with the cap than it did Richardon's play. The Browns saved $11 million by releasing the veteran they relied on heavily last season.
Richardson hasn't missed a game since 2017, so he comes with a relatively clean bill of health. He racked up 64 total tackles and was a contributor in the pass rush. He had 4.5 sacks and 10 quarterback hits, and neither of those numbers are uncharacteristically high.
A team like the Dallas Cowboys could do worse than adding Richardson to their rotation. They are going to rely on some young talent such as Neville Gallimore, Trysten Hill and newly drafted Osa Odighizuwa to take the next step, but Richardson is a more proven commodity than all three of them.
There's also the possibility where he returns to Cleveland.
General manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski have both made it clear they would be open to a return from the defensive lineman. The decision to release him was made almost purely from a financial standpoint.
The Colts are another prospective fit. They added Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo to their collection of defensive ends. Adding Richardson to their interior rush would bolster a group that lost Justin Houston but relies heavily on getting pressure with their front four.
Potential Suitors: Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts

Our 2nd round pick Dayo might be our long-term DE once he returns from injury. He was being considered a potential 1st round pick but fell due to Achilles tear. Hopefully, it doesn't impact him much. He is still 21 so not like Kobe returning at like 35. Apparently he was a stud before the freak injury.

Yup, great signing if he returns to even 80% of what he was with Chiefs. We might have the best o-line in nfl next season. It's stacked except for RG.
Now our only weakness is at WR, but that will have to wait until next off-season. I really hope Hilton stays healthy and Pittman takes a step forward into 1,000yd territory or close to it. Next year we will need a WR and a cornerback if Xavier Rhodes leaves for bigger deal. Other than those 2 positions, we are set everywhere for next 5yrs (assuming Wentz returns back to top-10 qb elite level he was until last season when he completely fell apart lol).

I actually went to high school with Fisher he was 2 years younger than me. I'm surprised the Chiefs let him go for nothing but good for him for getting paid.

Could Dallas have used Fisher? I doubt they had the cap room .

Antwaun Woods has found his next home in Indianapolis. The Colts signed the former Cowboys defensive tackle to a one-year deal.
Antwaun Woods is serviceable, I'm kinda surprised we cut him but I guess we need to see what the young guys have and this move creates a little cap space.
Cowboys should try to bring in Sheldon Richardson for a very cheap one year deal... but only after Just 1st. We need to see who's getting cut after June 1st before we use up our little remaining cap space.
