I mean, if he had a gun and is leading you on a chase, human mentality is ‘better safe than sorry’. Even if he dropped one weapon and put his hands up, who’s to say he doesnt have another he’ll pull when you approach? You already know for a fact he carries weapons while resisting arrest. Is it worth taking the chance on giving him the benefit of the doubt when you know fellow officers end up killed that way? Moreover, you dont have time to mull over all the ethical implications in that split moment with your life on the line.

My friend told him if he shot the dog he better shoot him next because he was going to drop him the second he pulled the trigger. He said this while having a shotgun in his hand since we were duck hunting.

The warden immediately took out his handcuffs and locked my friend up. I was watching in total shock, as well as the other game warden with him, who I knew well because I was briefly his roommate at one point. The game warden I knew told the arresting game warden to hold up for a second and not be so hasty in arresting my friend. He was incredulous lol. He said, "This muthafvcker threatened to shoot me! WHILE HOLDING A GUN!!!".
