No way they'd be getting this type of plea if they were male. Poor innocent girls didn't know what they were doing.
Two teen girls accused of car-jacking and killing Uber Eats driver in D.C. 'reach plea deal ensuring they'll not be held past age 21 nor be placed in a prison facility' (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9437615/Two-teenage-girls-accused-car-jacking-killing-Uber-Eats-driver-reach-plea-deal.html)

There was a thread here right before the forum change(so it was deleted) about a 14 year old California latino boy who was bullied and finally beaten to death by 2 older students. The parents had complained that he was being bullied but the school did nothing and finally those bullys killed their son. They spent 47 days in juvi awaiting a hearing and the judge let them both off on probation. :facepalm The parents now have a $100 million dollar lawsuit against the school district.
Brown Lives Matter too?

I wish there were laws in place to prosecute parents as well as the kids when this type of stuff happens.
Parents who raise feral kids should be looking at jail time themselves for failure to properly raise and supervise their kids.

I'm guessing they were charged with involuntary manslaughter. In Washington, this carries a sentence of up to 10 years even if they were adults. In some states it's only up to 4 years.

Except the death occurred during the commission of a felony. This should have been a murder charge and the prosecutor fvcked up.
The felony murder rule elevates killings that occur during the commission of a felony to murders. ... “A death that occurs during the commission or attempted commission of any felony constitutes murder” is the classic definition of the felony murder doctrine

Yeah should've been second degree murder which carry life sentence. But maybe they considered that they're minors who made a mistake? Not some hardened criminal type.
