Denny’s has a pretty good one. It’s better than Popeyes. The best one I’ve had was at this one diner where they pounded it flat and was served on hawaiian sweet rolls.

The best chicken sandwiches aren't from chain restaurants. I recommend the local places and hole in a wall restaurants

Yeah the only place I've been to from that list is Chic Fil A and it was alright.

I don't trust fried food from fast food places because they never clean fryers and there are videos of bugs and rodents that fall into them all the time. My go-to for 'fastfood' is publix. Glad we got one in the outer banks two years ago.

Best fried chicken is too unhealthy for fastfood these days and is made with mostly chicken skin.

I also read most fried chicken joints use kosher (Jewish) fileted foreskin. Is it true Jeff? Following Brit Milah/circumcision, where does it end up?

I don't really have a response to this because I don't find Popeyes sandwiches that impressive. Or any friend chicken sandwiches. I would rather eat the fried chicken separate with mashed potatoes and gravy.



I don't know if McDonalds or Wendy's counts as fried chicken but I like theirs with cheese and mayo.

but the thing most don’t know is that if you stroke the chicken on it’s side it turns into a 12 piece bucket!

A couple years back I had federal jury duty for two weeks in Boston. I ate Korean fried chicken sandwiches from Fuku, one of David Chang’s places, right across from the courthouse in the Seaport neighborhood, three times a week.

Not other fried chicken sandwich I’ve had anywhere else has come close.

To claifiy: none of these sandwiches are remotely healthy. By definition a fried chicken sandwich is high in calories and fat. Obviously an indulgence to be enjoyed on rare occasions. Both Popeyes and Shake shack marinate the meat in buttermilk which flavors and tenderizes the meat, similar to how Indians use yogurt in masala. Shake Shack uses an herb Mayo along with tart pickles which is a nice combo. Popeyes uses a spicy sauce paired with sweet pickles which gives them the edge for my Southern tastes.
