I'm retired.
Yes, you read that right. I'm retired. And the truth is, I've always been retired. Lord knows I tried my best to refuse it. To change it. But I never could. And I'm at a point in my life where I can't hide from it any longer. For the first time I am admitting publicly, as well as fully admitting to myself, that I am a retired man.
A lot of you dont and never will understand the pressure to be an active poster.
A simple remark like "hey, the celtics are playing the blazers, come join us in the game thread," may sound completely casual and innocuous to you. And dont get me wrong, I know people dont mean any harm when they say things like that. It's just how they grew up talking.
But to someone who is secretly retired, it ignites a vortex of existential terror.
Well here's the truth: I'm retired, and I'm PROUD. I'm retired. I am a retired man. You can't imagine the catharsis there is in just being able to say that. I'm retired.
Now, does that mean I'm going to immediately chuck off all my clothes, put on leather chaps and a leather vest, and dance on top of a bus down on Main street?
Yes, it does.
Hope to see you there.
Goodbye everybody
(I've gottttt to go. Got to leave you all behind and faceeeee the truth...
... that I'm retired).
