View Full Version : Who is the MOST IMPRESSIVE player in NBA history for you?

Not the best, not the greatest, but the most impressive.

Muggsy Bogues has to be one of the top for me. Being only 5'3 and being a solid starter for many seasons in the NBA is mighty impressive.

Another would be Bobby Jones, who despite suffering from asthma as well as occasional epileptic seizures and a chronic heart disorder, managed not only to play in the NBA, but be on the All-Defense 1st team for 10 seasons!

Are we talking impressive in terms of on court performance, or pants bulge?

I guess either way I’d have to go with Lebron.

Lebron. The guy is from Akron, Ohio. He wasn't supposed to be there.

They said the same thing when delonte was caught leaving gloria’s hotel room.

Vince Carter. Nobody made you watch sportscenter till the very end to see what he did that day. Must see tv. Many dunkers have passed but none created that hype and anticipation in a fast break like Vince

I thought your first joke was super funny bunnies. But you need to repeat them more often, like how Coin24 does. So more people hear it = more laughs

Gerald Green.

The dude could look in the hoop before dunk and played without one finger.

in terms of Value Per Point, or Value Per Stat, some players I'd dish out include Maurice Cheeks, Terry Tyler, Terrell Brandon, Michael Cooper, Ron Mercer, Ron Harper, Metta World Peace, Matt Harpring and Kirk Hinrich. Most of these guys played with a lot of grit, and would tough it out on defense when teammates would quit.

Some players whose skill might be overlooked: Brandon, Mercer, Abdul-Rauf, Hardaway.

Individually Wilt is by far the greatest basketball player of all time and it is not even close

He holds over 200 records to himself when you include blocks and steals

He also did things that are just unthinkable nowadays

He averaged over 50 a game for an entire season

He averaged 48.5 minutes a game for an entire season

He blocked over 27 shots in one game

He has the most triple-doubles ever and double triple-doubles as well

Plus He also has the most quadruple doubles ever

And he also is the only player to ever record a quintuple double

Plus he grabbed 55 rebounds in a single game

Also scored 100 points in a single game as well

Has the most 40 and 50 point games ever

Along with 60 and 70 point games ever

DRose. A force of nature never before seen at his prime, then crushed by injuries, and then reinventing himself into this methodical, refined finesse player. His work ethic is impeccable. His aesthetics is untouchable. That n*gga nice!

When you remember to adjust for pace some of those numbers don't really seem that unreachable, especially when you factor in the improvement in level of competition over the years.

There was a time quite recently when Oscar Robertson averaging a triple double for an entire season was similarly mind-boggling to many. But then we saw Russell Westbrook average a triple double for a season. Thrice. Looks like he may even do it again this year. Westbrook isn't even close to being the most impressive player playing today. That kind of bursts the bubble of mystique surrounding some of these old achievements.

It hurts Wilt's aura of invincibility that these records cultivate significantly that he didn't win more. One gets the impression he was more interested in putting up these big numbers than winning.

Easily LeBron James.

He was something we hadn't seen before but he raised the bar of what the best player in the league/GOAT should look like in terms of size and skill.

LeBron made guys like Jordan and Kobe too small and too weak. Now franchises want 6'8, 6'9, 6'10 wings that are as strong as an ox but swift like a cat. The new standard.

of course it is MJ - his work ethic was tops -bar none.

The guy that laid it all on the court - NO MATTER what was Bird.

granted they were HOF'ers ... but the word IMPRESSED to me is elite.

This a tough one. I'd probably go with Magic since his passing was impeccable. Hakeem also comes to mind due to his low post moves and unrivaled defensive IQ.

Steph and Dame Lillard with their long range game. Kyrie with the handles. This is a tough one to narrow it down to just one player.

LBJ for how good he is and for how long.

Shaq for his size/weight and how agile he was.

Kawhi is the most impressive of all time and I've seen them all.

Unselfish, always makes the perfect pass or hockey pass, doesn't have bad habits like other players such as Harden or Luka,

Greatest shot selection for a non big man of all time, best win percentage ever, stopped two different 3peats and won finals MVP in 2014 and 2019, 7"3 length, center strength, on ball guard skills and mobility, goat hands, elite rebounder when he averaged 4 offensive rebounds in closeout games vs giannis and Embiid 2019 playoffs.

And 14 points on 6/22 in an elimination game against the nuggets during 2020 wcsf.
