He also said mj is the one if you want to win chips and is basically more of an alpha. He never said who was the goat he said he doesn't do that talk.

Harden only became MVP-caliber once Curry's spacing and open paint became the league format, which coincided with new no-impede rules that were instituted on defense.

In other words, Harden's live dribble style is only great in today's format. he simply doesn't compare to a super-athlete like like MJ that could do things that Harden can only dream

Bron is the best ALL AROUND PLAYER ever when u factor his positional versatility two way wise AND numbers as a package. But for me, the KEY is due to Bron's positional versatility edge. Bron is positionless phenom. MJ at 6'6 215 was as VERSATILE as you could be at that size. LEGIT PLAYED AND DEFENDED PG, SG, and SF at great levels.

From there MJ PROVED before Pip he could put u 30-8-8 seasons. AND also have world class defense combined with it. IF Pip's game never evolved, MJ would have put up MORE 30-8-8 seasons. For players who SIZE WISE are restricted to PG, SG, and SF (so that means NO Bron, KD, Magic, Bird), MJ is ACTUALLY the best all around player ever!!! LEGIT a great scorer, passer, rebounder, and defender. CAN PLAY OR DEFEND PG, SG, and SF!

So the thought that Bron is a great all around player while MJ was great scorer is BS!!! BOTH are great scorers AND great all around players in one package. Bron is just bigger and more of pass first guy. MJ is more of an assassin and score first! But BOTH are the total package. Once again all around wise, I give it to Bron though. But in my opinion, Bron's positional versatility and pass first nature are the HUGE factors. Numbers wise, MJ PROVED he could put up all around numbers ON PAR with Bron's numbers!

You probably aren't paying attention or are pulling the stick your finger in your ears and babble so you can't hear what you don't want to trick if you think LeBron people only talk about his stats, longevity and awards. That's all part of it but there's a lot more to him than those things.

He has Jordan's athleticism in Karl Malone'a body. He has Magic's passing and Shaq's finishing at the basket. He's an elite defender who not only defends well personally, but leads the team defense calling out assignments and disecting opposition plays. He has the size and strength to guard bigs and athleticism to guard guards. It's not an exaggeration to say he often is his team's best player at every major facet of the game.

He presents defenses with nothing but bad choices. If they don't double his drives, he'll beat his man and score. If they do, he'll find an open player. For a time teams picked their poison giving him open shots, but he closed that hole in his game and developed a quality three point shot and fadeaway baseline jumper he's used to defeat playoff defenses that tried sagging off him.

He may not have the endless arsenal of moves of a Jordan or Kobe, but he doesn't need them. He has the size and agility to force his way to the hoop as an unstoppable freight train or with his favored spin move when a player over plays into his driving lane. He finishes at the rim with both hands and can do so with defenders bear hugging him so he can't raise his arms.

He's the most complete basketball player ever. He was arguably the best player in the game by 2006 and still is 16 years later. Most players don't play that long much less remain at the top of the sport.

He introduced himself as a elite playoff player with game winners in his very first playoff series and has more playoff buzzer beaters than Jordan and Kobe combined. He's the greatest elimination game player ever, elevating his game when the stakes are highest over and over again. He's dragged inadequate casts far deeper than they should have gone, and orchestrated talented rosters to victories against other juggernaut teams.

When he joins a team it becomes an instant contender and when he leaves time and time again it's been revealed that he was far and away the primary reason the team had any kind of success. Rosters that couldn't make the playoffs in the "weak east" without him are finals contenders with him.

Other players have strong cases for GOAT, but if you don't think LeBron is in that conversation, you have no clue about basketball.

Jordan has hsitorically turned into a mythical creature and while I have him as the GOAT of basketball and top 3 in all history sports (impact, numbers, intangibles) Lebron is a better all around player.

Most people would say Magic was a better rebounder and had a higher IQ than Jordan prime for prime. Well Lebron is taller with more girth while being an elite scorer on very good percentages (all around, I'm sure people will question his jump shot metrics)

Lebron arguably has a higher IQ and feel for reading defenses. Defensively in the 90's I'd trust Lebron to switch from a Kevin Johnson type athletic PG to a Anthony Mason or Charles Oakley on a switch. Neither guy is defending Dirk, KG, or Rasheed Wallace in their prime (We call them Unicorns)

they both have similar peaks and primes. i can see the case for mj though, he's got a more reliable half-court scorers game. on defense he might've been more consistent as well. overall, certain data has him pegged with higher impact. and other numbers put lebron in the limelight. again, they're close.

far as careers? lebron has a great opportunity to cement himself. he ALREADY gets "goat" recognition, but winning another title or two with the lakers makes his case stronger. especially if he's producing at "MVP" caliber.

Lebron Won 2 bronze medals for America. Lost to a career loser in Dwight Howard with HCA while his 2nd star was out the entire series in Jameer Nelson. Won 1 title in 11 years for a franchise that drafted him while MJ only won gold medals, has the most league, finals mvp's and titles combined of any player in nba history and 3 peated twice for a franchise that never won prior to him arriving.

You know very well that Bill Russell would lead your cherry picked stat if the award was given during the time he played. The Finals MVP is, after all, named after the man himself.

Well did other teams only have to win 2 series to win the title? Obviously not. So it balances out. Also Russell joined a team with the league mvp and rookie of the year over him.

So Cousy didn't win MVP when Russell joined. Heinsohn didn't win ROY over Russell?

Full of excuses, you are. We can play it both ways. Those 90s Bulls aren't considered one of the best teams of all time?

Fact remains, Russell has 11 Championships and Jordan has 6. And if FMVP was awarded during Russell's time, he'd have more than Jordan.

Russell won 25 series for 11 titles in his era. Jordan had to win 24 series straight for 6 in his era. 1984 they switched to winning 4 series a year. For 8 of Russell's titles he had to only win 2 series including getting a series off.

the only guys picking lebron over MJ are bitter rivals of his that still have a bad taste in their mouth over 1991 and 1996

both say they got the better of MJ. zeke cause he won more series and Payton cause jordan struggled in the 96 finals and Rodman sorta carried the series. so I can understand their pain

Thing is MJ was THE ONE to put this package on the map:

Great scorer
Great rebounder for his position
Great passer for position
Great defender
Freak athlete
Can play or defend PG, SG, and SF at GREAT LEVELS!

So MJ was the EPITOME of a great all around player on both sides of the court. Put up a season with 32.5PPG-8 dimes-8boards! Could have KEPT HAVING THOSE numbers every season. But Pip coming of age allowed Pip to be the dominant floor game guy. Allowing MJ to save energy to dominate scoring. While STILL providing a great floor game. Sure I think Bron is a better all around player than MJ. Better passer, better rebounder, and able to play/defend more positions. But MJ is superior scoring and defensively. So there ISN'T a huge gap all around game wise.

It was a weak era for defense and somehow steals was the measuring stick for great D.

Don't act like Lebron is guarding the opposing teams best offensive player.

NBA record for most blocks by a guard in a NBA season is 1987-'88 DPOY Michael Jordan. 2nd most EVA is...Michael Jordan 1986-'87. He has 3 of the top 20 blocks in one season by a guard.

If you ACTUALLY BELIEVE MJ DIDN'T guard the top scoring PG's, SG's, or SF's ENOUGH to deserve his standing as a great defender, u ain't been watchin hoops!

He is a better all around player. Iverson is also the greatest pound for pound but that’s the equivalent. Jordan is greatest of all time

Let me guess. Jordan is greater because of his scoring, and the player who is the #1 all-time playoff scorer by far and will probably break Kareem's all-time scoring record isn't good enough of a scorer.
