Pippen is one of the rare sidekicks on a champion that never achieved elite 1st option stats or FMVP (a true 2nd option ) - the only other true 2nd options in 3-pointer history (that won) were Klay, Gasol, Jason Terry, Horry, and Rip Hamilton..

These 2nd options are obviously inferior to the elite 1st option and FMVP sidekicks that everyone else enjoyed, like Curry, Kobe, Kareem, Wade, AD, etc.. Jordan would have more rings with an elite 1st option or FMVP sidekick than a true 2nd option like Pippen.

And pippen's defense meant nothing - the 1st three-peat Bulls had the #7 defense and inferior defenses in the Finals/ECF.. Ultimately, individual defense is offset by 4 teammates, whereas there's only one 2nd option scoring role

Bird? Magic? Kareem? Duncan? Russell? Even Hakeem and LeBron led teams to the finals in fewer years, and at younger ages than Jordan. Jordan is the only one of these players to not win at least one series in his first three years, and the only one to not appear in the finals by year four.

Just in case basic basketball history isn't understood. The first five guys listed won titles in their first or second years in the league.

That's the point.... Magic was a much better player than Pippen despite being way worse defensively. An individual can impact offense far more than an individual can impact defense where a true team effort is required, and honestly a ton of it is coaching, where as offense is more ad lib.

Bulls may have been 1-9 even if you added peak Pippen to those teams from 1985-1987. Hell Lebron was 1-8 vs G.S in 2017 and 2018 and he had stars. Jordan wasnt even the best player in the league from 1985-1987.

He brought offense, defense, and playmaking to the table. Show me where Love was ever an elite defender and playmaker along with scoring and rebounding.

Pippen had one season during his prime when he had to lead a team as its best player. He won 55 games and came within a bucket of the conference finals.

He made the playoffs ever year of his career, except his last at age 38 when he only played 23 games. His team won 50+ games every one of those years except twice when they won 47 and 49.

Love has never played a single play off game outside of the 4 seasons he played with Lebron. Love has never led a team to more than 40 wins.

Stats =/= good. Love <<<< Pippen.
