Depends on who else I have but probably Reggie for the consistency and unflappability.

If PG is flowing and playing well he’s the better player though. Does more things at a higher level.

In the regular season PG13 is better but in the playoffs I'll take Reggie over Playoff P.

The playoffs seemed to bring out the best in Reggie. He especially loved playing the villain on the road.

in the playoffs, and from '90-02, miller averaged 24 on 46/41/89 and 61%ts. so i would take reggie in his prime because of his scoring and efficiency - that and the clutch ability. it isn't that george is a terrible playoff performer, but by comparison, i don't think he shows up as often. don't think the slightly better playmaking and defense offsets miller's scoring advantage, either.

As a pg fan, its that simple. Reg season paul is much more of a complete player. But Reggie had no quit. Cluch as fk. One of the best competitors ever

Reggie was one of the best playoff performers ever. One of those players who stepped up big in the playoffs against the tough defenses, gameplanning and moments. There is only a handful of players today you take over a prime Reggie in the playoffs and Playoff Piss shirley aint one

This is one of those questions that comes down to if you choose to acknowledge a massive total game deficit or not. People are really inconsistent with that decision. Whatever you think of their offense....and no matter how willing you are to ignore that George is a better ball handler and passer...and can face up and do more with the ball...he’s also indisputably 2-3 tiers up on defense. So as a total basketball player it isn’t much of a question but like I said....people pick and choose when to care. Comes down to the person being asked as usual.

It’s like how Iggy is better than Reggie at every single thing that happens on a court other than shooting and moving off the ball. Except George is that....plus scoring more than Reggie usually does.

Even when you give Reggie the edge on offense because of intangibles and playoff scoring that still led to defeat you come back to total basketball evaluation and it not being thaaaat close because defense exists and Reggie can’t be trusted to even dribble the ball vs pressure or make many passes off the dribble.

But that isn’t the way everyone looks at it....all the time. Most pick and choose when all around play matters and there’s no arguing with that. Just the way fans are. The argument changes with the situation.

Reggie Miller's playoff prime scoring numbers of around 25pts 48%fg 44%3fg up to age 30 (49 games) pretty much speaks for itself.

Imagine those numbers with todays offense friendly rules that are basically made for his game

With the advantage of the modern offensive rules George is basically two tiers less efficient in the playoffs (42%fg) while scoring less. Is he really better because of a few rebounds more and a couple of assists and being hyped as a good defender?

Add in the leadership and mental strength and other intangibles that somebody like Miller gives for your team which is some of the weakest parts of Paul George's game.

With all that being said it is a fairly close comparison but what gives Miller the edge is how he elevates his game in the playoffs while being the significantly better leader and mentally stronger player that inspires his teammates to play better.

If you could put these two guys together you could really have a great player. Each guy has strength where the other guy has a weakness.

Obviously he was made for today’s game and I’ve said he’d be an mvp candidate with the rules in place at the pace they play now.....

But you know what else?

If his career played out the same? He’d be clowned for not winning a playoff series till he was like 29.

You mention his prime numbers cutting it off at 30 but ignore that in 18 years of play he only put up 25 in the playoffs in one “run” that wasn’t a first round loss. One year in 18 did he score 25 a game....without it being a first round defeat....often a wipeout.

Hed be laughed at about it today if he were getting real star treatment. Reggie might actually get a lot of hate for his playoff career today. People talk about Tatum needing to win this and that and he’s taken his team to 2 conference finals at age 22.

A 90s Reggie career in the 2020s?

Im not sure it gets the praise he gets in retrospect. The public loves clowning people who go fishing even more than quoting advanced stats that turned out not to count on the scoreboard.

Hed be waaaaaaaay in before people let up. And the memes would be ready for when he lost even then.

You should see how modern fans rip Hakeem for having “only” 2 rings online. Reggie would be a laughingstock to many.....fair or not.

Everyone gets clowned nowadays so I dont know where youre getting at. Goat level players getting trashed endlessly is the norm here basically.

They see a player that overachieves and basically beats superstars on big market teams in the playoffs while being given no chance at all to succeed and people who know the game will respect that.

Then again trolls will always be trolls but their opinions hardly matter.

Why? Cause he played in the 90s? Or because you don't like players who don't do ring chasing? Lol

Reggie Miller never won anything. He is a terrible achiever. Not even any All nba 1st teams or 2nd teams. No high MVP rankings. Just a bafoon of a player. No high PER season. Hardly any strong BPM seasons. No high scoring season (peaked, PEAKED, at 24.6 wtf). Shitty defense. The guy is probably the most overrated player in NBA history. How's that?

He played at the same time a MJ and Drexler so 1st or 2nd team all NBA was a reach.

He did lead the league in ortg 3 times. He is 15th all time in win shares just ahead of Kobe.

His career average in the playoffs was 20.6 pg with a 60% TS.

Paul is a more well rounded player but calling Miller an atrocity of a player is nonsense.

Nonsense. You just basically described all his post perfectly in one word
