Remember when you went to the arcade and you could actually shit talk other players in real life with 20 kids standing behind you cheering? So much better than the mediocre experience these kids have today playing over a headset in their mother’s basement wondering what real social interaction within the hobby of video games might have been like. These days if a kid loses, they don’t even try to get better. They just play minecraft or some shit.

Yeah, i remember playing Street fighter 2 champion edition, Mk 2 and tekken 3 on the arcades. Ill never forget how MvC 2 took the arcade scene by storm. It had like 15 people watching the fight

Is that the game where you could play as akuma as a hidden character and one of his specials was the screen just goes black and the opponent dies lol?

The series had many good characters, decent story and on top of that, you can create and customize your own characters too. Their fighting styles can also be chosen, which are based from the main characters.

DBZ budokai 3 was easily the GOAT fighting game.

Loved the Kof series 94-98, Street Fighter Alpha series and
Capcom vs Snk 1 and 2 etc.

The best for me is CVS1 because that was the first time two rival companies made a crossover and it was epic seeing Snk guys vs Capcom characters basically Streetfighter vs Kof.

Missed those days were people would line up just to challenge you at the machine and racking up a big win streak wherein one coin/token would last you for hours lol.

Wwe and ufc games should count as well too i believe. Mods for their pc releases make them even more enjoyable. Def jam was also good but only the one for ps2.

I jumped straight into the 2nd one. Is the first better? Love playing against ultra rugal

Fight Night Round 2.

That facial damage was great. But my favorite was round 3

Second one was clearly better but the first one had more significance for me because it was their first crossover.

Also when I played they were a lot more machines and players/competition for Cvs1 compared to Cvs2. Most arcades had a Cvs1 cabinet back then with its own group of players while Cvs2 only had two locations back then from where I played.

My favorites:

Mortal Kombat 2 (pc)
Soul Caliber (Dreamcast)
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Dreamcast)
Street fighter (pc)

Never really played fighting games beyond my Dreamcast days. I preferred games with stories and single-player campaigns (rpg, fps, rts)
