Klay Thompson has had the injury bug for the last 2 years, lets say he comes back from injury, and he's not the player he was, but he's a solid contributor, on par with Danny Green, or Bojan Bogdanovic for the next couple of years before he retires.

Has he put in enough body of work to be a HALL OF FAMER?

I would say NO...but if Dennis Rodman can make it...why shouldn't he?!

He's one of the most accomplished two way players the league has ever seen.

2 way player? How many steals/blocks per game did Thompson average pre injury?

Lmao, you think that determines how good a player is defensively? Dennis Rodman never averaged a full steal or block in any season of his career

Klay Thompson had better career than Joe Dumars. Dumars is in the Hall of fame.

Depends on how much people value 3rd/4th fiddle rings

He and Draymond were integral pieces to one of the most dominant five year stretches in league history with historic achievements like the 73 win season. Klay has the record for most points in a quarter. He's a hall of fame if he never plays another game. So is Dramond. Iggy too most likely.

Well if t-mac has been inducted to the hof somehow despite experiencing a lot of playoff misfortunes during his career, then why shouldn't thompson make it in the future?

Lets not forget he was a part of the team USA 2016 games where they won gold

Klay might not make the HOF if he doesn't come back to his all-star form.

he has a better resume than reggie...who's already in.

Definitely NO.
He needs to at least finish the remaining part of his career as a decent player to make it to HOF. 12PPG / 5RPG won’t cut it, even 6th man in todays league average like 12PPG.
But with his touch, doubt that he’ll come back only as a 12ppg player.

This topic gives me PTSD. Guy is on a 35m/year contract. I don't expect him to be back to his old self, but we need a solid defender that can still drop the 3 when open.

Good question, i would say no. Winning 2 rings with Steph and KD, add Draymonds almost equal importance as third option and inflated stats era won't help his case if he comes back as a 12ppg player.

reggie - 5x all star, 3x all nba = hofer
klay - 3x champion, 5x all star, 2x all nba, 1x all d team = no

He better come back better than that, or the Warriors run is done.

He has the resume to make the HOF even if he doesn't play another game in his career. If the question here is whether he might suck so bad that he will nullify his resume, he needs to be the worst player in the NBA, and if that happens he will retire a lot sooner before he puts his HOF in question. As a 12 ppg player he is a lock for the HOF.

Klay’s defense has always been massively overrated.

He's an outlier then. Most great defensive players put up elite defensive stats or metrics. Klay never has. People just think he's good because he defends the star guard on the opposing team but even then has still gotten lit up many times.

He's not an elite defender, but I don't think many think he is. But he is willing to do the dirty work and isn't a big liability on defense. Yeah some guards torch him, but some guards are almost unstoppable today regardless of how good the defender is.

He plays smart, fits the team defensive scheme well, has decent size and length and works hard. His defensive game isn't what makes him a hall of gamer, but it isn't hurting his case either.

That's because we all know that he does a better job at doing that than his fellow splash bro, potsy.

with all the illegal picks he's set, not sure why a cheater should be let in the Hall of Fame

his shooting stats are augmented by the fact that he doesn't command the opposing team's best wing defender

if he somehow had this body of work without cheating, he'd be a good choice

Yea but we are an entire generation later. 5x all-star is no longer enough to make the HOF because players generally have much better longevity in the modern era than they did in past eras.

Players today stat padding and inflating their years now :lol

Klay in only his 5th year was visibly a better shooter, scorer, defender and overall player than Reggie Miller was in his entire career.

And that's without the 90's toddler 3point line being pushed close to WNBA distance

Reggie has played WAY more seasons than Klay has.. nearly twice as many and Klay has accomplished more. Try again

If he comes back with shit lateral movement with his touch he can average 12PPG
