No he didn't, Utah weren't even a playoff team for Rudy's first three seasons

And they got good because of Haywards development into an all star and them getting George Hill & Joe Johnson

They were tanking and were as bad as anyone in the league his 2nd year. He emerged in December and they were a different team. After he entered the starting lineup after trading Kanter they had the 6th best record in the league.

The next year they still acted like they were tanking despite that and just missed the playoffs because Gobert was out two months and they sucked without him and they didn't get the vet pg they needed until the all star break and he was Shelvin Mack and it took a while to adjust!

Finally put some guys around him with Hill , the last legs of Johnson and the corpse of Diaw and went to the 2nd round.
