1) One party state
In China they have elections it is just that you have to choose from the candidates selected by the Party. The USA has elections but you have to choose from the candidates selected by the Billionaire class (the corporate oligarchs). The two political parties are just two branches of the Corporations Party that change formal positions in government but economic policies remain those required by the corporate oligarchs. Studies have clearly shown that public opinion has close to zero impact on policies, they instead reflect entirely the interests of the corporate class.
2) Absence of a Free media
The media is controlled by a small number of giant corporations and are further subject to advertising revenue from other giant corporations. As a consequence, as you would expect, they reflect the interests of corporations and do not perform the task needed in a free society -that of holding corporate/government power to account.
3) Lack of free speech
In a free society whistle blowers exposing corporate or government wrong doing would be encouraged, but in the USA they are subject to draconian and barbaric treatment, look no further than Snowden, Assange and Manning. Media giants a la Twitter, Facebook, Amazon banning non conforming narratives.
4) Radical nationalism
Anthem played before non international games (absurd), pledge of allegiance (reminiscent of Hitlerjugend)
5) Extremely militaristic
Gun culture. The habit of of thanking soldiers (war criminals) for their service. Engaging in perpetual wars destroying livelihoods of millions upon millions of innocent people. Iraq, Libya, Syria just to name a few.

fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/autocratic) government headed by a dictatorial (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dictatorial) leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
The answer is no.
idiots.

This is always a definitional argument. Mussolini defined fascism as "a merger of state and corporation" so one could certainly argue that the corporatism/neoliberalism of the past 100+ years qualifies. I would lean towards "no", though. While there certainly exists a nexus of government/business power, they're not in direct cooperation the way German industry was with the Third Reich, for example. I would consider the US state to be basically liberal.
It's worth pointing out, though, that it's more powerful than any fascist state has ever been, so just because its approach isn't classically fascist doesn't necessarily mean that it's less of a threat to liberty.

yeah, a supposed "limited government" yet the most powerful one the world has ever seen.
America's "right wing" literally has a trans running for governor
I'll start believing America is a fascist state once we start jailing thousands of journalists and publicly executing the lockdown governors and "health" officials.
until then,

I think a reality where the Capitol rioters stormed the capitol, assasinated some of the parliament and installed Trump as the president, unelected and not representative of the people, would be as close to actual fascism as the US could presently reach.
Would corporations like Apple recognize this fascist government? Would it be business as usual?

Yes. Always has been.
You're free to spew your inane drivel and leech off Mommy and Daddy. Tell me how bad this country is again little boy??
Well, the dems act like dictators and think they're above the law so they'd go great lengths in shutting down anyone who isn't their ally or those who attempt to spoil their party.

You clown. I mean weren't they crying that there's suppression of press freedom or other similar things when they don't realize they're basically the ones who's responsible for it? Also i bet they've been doing this for a long time too.

I'm a clown? Republicans are literally making it harder for minorities to vote in Georgia. Grow up.

Just making the process more of a pain in the ass for people in poverty, elderly, immobile or other working people that need easier access to voting. Hoping to dissuade their motivation.

I read it. My interpretation is that these laws make it more difficult to vote for people, creating stricter parameters. I think for myself, fatman.
For Georgia to simp for Trump's inane conspiracies is a worse enough look. I understand why companies boycotted the Peach.

You can apply for an absentee ballot, or you can show up and vote on election day. And when you do, you need to have a valid State ID. How hard is that?
That's the law in several states, not just Georgia. Stacey Abrams complained that there was voter fraud when she ran for Governor and lost, so the Republican governor makes it harder for there to be voter fraud, and here she is complaining about the law that would probably help her win if she ran again. What a dumbass. :oldlol:

That's your interpretation. I guess if you simp for Trump your priorities are different. Fact is no evidence of voting fraud was found.
I think these moves will suppress some casual voters that don't really vote with regularity.

The best description for the modern US government is "inverted totalitarianism".
Instead of traditional totalitarianism where society is structured around a charismatic dictator, in inverted totalitarianism the faceless corporate state is the dictator.
Ideology – Inverted totalitarianism deviates from the Nazi regime as to ideology, i.e. economic interests of elites and cost-effectiveness guide decision making rather than the nationalistic interests of a so-called master race.
Economy – In Nazi Germany, the state-dominated the economic actors whereas in inverted totalitarianism corporations through lobbying, political contributions and the revolving door dominate the United States, with the government acting as the servant of large corporations. This is considered "normal" rather than corrupt.
Nationalism – While Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy were nationalistic, inverted totalitarianism is a globalist system based on global exchange of jobs, culture and commodities.
The people – While the classical totalitarian regimes aimed at the constant political mobilization of the populace, inverted totalitarianism aims for the mass of the populace to be in a persistent state of political apathy. The only type of political activity expected or desired from the citizenry is voting. Low electoral turnouts are favorably received as an indication that the bulk of the populace has given up hope that the government will ever significantly help them.
Punishment – While the classical totalitarian regimes punished harshly (imprisoning or killing political or ideological opponents and scapegoats), inverted totalitarianism in particular punishes by means of an economy of fear (minimizing social security, busting unions, outdating skills, outsourcing jobs and so on).
Leader – While the classical totalitarian regimes had charismatic leaders that were the architects of the state, inverted totalitarianism does not depend on a certain leader, but produces its leaders who are akin to corporate leaders.
Social policy – While Nazism made life uncertain for the wealthy and privileged and had a social policy for the working class, inverted totalitarianism places the interests of the wealthy above all other policy considerations, while exploiting the poor with weak and inefficient health and social programs and ever declining working conditions.

This. And in reality, there would be more wealth parity if more Americans had the balls to go and get a piece of that pie for themselves.
The media has the effect of convincing a large part of the country that national strength and pride and dominance etc is somehow immoral, and therefore people miss out because they just accept such ideas as true. Even though... they have no real basis in natural law. I think part of this is a response to the Holocaust, where it became clear first hand how carried away things can get when a whole country gets that kind of power and momentum. So now the media essentially does the job of splitting the country's values, to keep things from moving too far in either direction.
Which results in a lot of left wing kids sitting around crying about transgender inclusion rather than saying "How can I go and get myself some of the profits to be made off the political turmoil in Angola??"
I'm not taking a position on which side is right or better, that's just the nature of it. People at the top are out hustling, people on the bottom are sucking thumbs and crying about fairness.
Life is life.
