Where is the physical aspect of the game, why is the DEFENSE REMOVED from the game? On top of that, who can explain to me why the INJURIES ARE WORST than in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. If the game is less physical, the injuries should be less, no??

ROBOTS ARE SHOOTING 3s in every game non stop for 4 quarters, please comment.

The thought process is that increase scoring = higher ratings = money.

League wanted this to happen and made the rules this way. And it's easier to market wing players who score a lot. And along the way, analytics told coaches 3>2 enough times till they actually put in practice.

As for injuries, I dunno. The game is faster now with the quick turns and switching. In the 80s, they did run a lot more cuz of the fastbreak. But they didn't switch out as often like they do now. Plus, they are more cautious with injuries now. Back in the day, it was more encourage that you would play on. This would lead to a lot of shorten careers.

But I dunno. There were still injuries still. I dunno if there is more now. It might just seem more cuz we live in the here and now too. And these past two seasons were abnormal too. Shorten season, shorter off season. Got to keep that in mind.

The NBA certainly isn't, even the euroleague is becoming very soft in terms how defense and fouls are called.
When I was in Serbia I went to league game between two middle of the back teams and I was absolutely shocked by how physical and rough it was, they still play like its 1990 over other sometimes.

It no longer is. Not in the NBA, anyways.

Michael Jordan's 1998 retirement resulted in ratings dropping essentially on a league wide scale. As such, subsequent rule changes from the league were enacted over quite a number of years in a desperate attempt to prop up perimeter players. They tried to manufacture a new Jordan. The masses are more entertained by perimeter players for obvious surface level reasons. People don't want to watch bigs dominate. And they really don't want to watch grind it out physical games, be that from bigs or perimeter players. Flat out. People like scoring, and that's it.

Now, couple the league's actions with executives waking up to the math behind the three point shot basically starting from the mid 2000s to present day and you have today's product.

Less physical or not doesn't matter much for me. What matters is that the defense has no options as a result. If you want to make it less physical then give the defense other ways to gain an advantage.

I just don't get how anyone would prefer watching or playing less physical ball. I get casuals preferring to watch the 3 pt festival that's the nba now but what real baller actually likes less physicality? Real ballers know what i'm sayin. Makes me wonder how many casuals are on here.

ONLY OFFENSE BEING PLAYED HURTS THE GAME SO BAD, I AGREE. WE ARE WATCHING 130-150 PTs GAMES EVERY NIGHT THAT MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It's ALL OVERINFLATED AND A LIE, NO TALENT IS EXCELLING BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING GIVEN FREE POINTS, FREE THROWS AND FOULS.
