In the president’s first 100 days in office, against a drumbeat of calls for the rich to pay more in taxes, the 100 wealthiest Americans added a combined $195 billion to their fortunes, according to a Bloomberg analysis.

Clickbait title I know but please discuss the above plus will big tech be split or how can their power be reduced? Thought big tech would be broken up like standard oil but amazon, facebook, apple, and google seem to be unstoppable?

Imagine if people just avoided using them where possible and spent/used elsewhere instead of expecting politicians to make terrible platforms good and fair. What a concept.

What exactly are we trying to stop big tech from doing?

Like saying, imagine if drug addicts just went cold turkey.

Unhelpful and unlikely.

Censoring a world leader is an egregious example - whether you liked the leader of the number one economy in the world or not.

Other obvious examples are using our data - no, we can't not agree to their terms as it is essential to be connected in modern life.

It is not essential at all to use Amazon, Apple and social media :confusedshrug:

Google is a major concern but still, not essential. Just extremely useful and convenient.
