Hard to expect a team to start clicking right away after its 2 best players were gone for long stretches. Who knows if LeBron and AD will even get back to last year's level. Things look bleak for LA as of right now.

It's all Drummond's fault, right guys? Right RRR3?
I mean last game was. I’m now watching this one, though. AD playing like a role player is probably the biggest problem if the box score is accurate. I’m not sure why you think Drummond is someone you can play with the Lakers lineup. He’s the worst possible fit.

What about their coach? He must be shitty too, right? Even though he led kong to his fourth title and fourth finals mvp last year.

Fighting to stay out of play in tournament and you lose to the kings/raptors. That's about as embarrassing as it gets. First the groin and then the ankle, its finally time for LeBron to start thinking about hanging them up and just watching his son play instead

AD is the #1 reason why this team is this bad as of right now and tbf he has been all season. LBJ having a rough night when he is 36 and just came back off an injury is one thing. It takes more time to get back to shape with his mileage. Also he clearly has taken a step back.
However AD is inexcusable. He is absolutely horrible. Defensively he is meh and offensively he is complete garbage.
Some people have been criticizing Drummond but he is clearly better than AD right now. Even Kuzma is better!! As much as I believe in this team, it's safe to say we are not going anywhere if AD isn't playing to the level he is supposed to. LBJ ain't 20 no more

Vogel deserves some blame also. Some of his rotations have been pretty bad over the last few games.
And on a side note, LeBron said at this stage of his career there's a chance he will never reach 100% again. Interesting times for the Lakers.

This dude (lebron) just faked an injury to leave the game so his team can fall to the play in tournament, all so he doesn't play kawhi in 1st round as he knows clippers are not likely to be a 1 or 2 seed.

He can play with his son in China since Bronny has about as much of chance of playing a single NBA minute as LiAngelo Ball does.

Yup I've been saying all season. This team needs shooting, shooting and shooting. Drummond is nice and all but he doesn't provide that. McLemore does but Vogel wont play him. Turning down the Lowry aka someone who can consistently knock down shots to keep THT, a no-shot turnover machine can definitely come back to haunt the Lakers if they don't win this year

Lmao they’re not winning shit. Team is 36 year old LeBron at less than 100% and role players (AD is in effect a role player until he starts playing like he did before this year).

You realize Lebron wants to win another ring right? Which means that regardless if they meet in the 1st round, semis or WCF, they still have to meet unless Kawhi chokes it up before going there again. It doesn't make a difference when these guys play each other.
Either way, Nets look like they're taking it unless something happens presuming their 3 stars are fit. You're fighting over scraps right now.

You are delusional if you think kuzma has vastly improved to become good this year. In the postseason, he's good as useless. Especially in defense.

Kuzma is nothing really special, this yr has proved that to me. When I said he is better than AD its just to point out how bad AD has been. If we're being objective, we could even make the point that Schröder has been a better player all season than AD. AD had a lot of games before his injury where he barely went above double digits

Yes, it's hard to be the best team in the west, let alone the whole league when the best sidekick in the world is not living up to expectations anymore. Otoh, yep schroder is a good addition. These doubts aside, i still believe they'd be contending later so better save it by then.

What? AD is clearly the 2nd best player on the Lakers for the season, it's not even close. 10 games prior to the game he got injured, he averaged 24/9/3/2/2 on 52%FG and the Lakers were 8 - 2 in those games, so he wasn't playing poorly at all. He's obviously been rusty his first 5 games back, but you talking about being "objective" when Davis statistically is by far the 2nd best player on the team is just being dishonest. Schroder is averaging 16/4/6 on 54%TS for the season with a below league-average PER, Kuzma is even worse at 13/6 on 54%TS :facepalm .

The short off-season & injuries obviously have hurt both him and Lebron, it is what it is. This team's not good enough to win anything if the two don't get to at least 90% of what they were in the bubble.

Maybe I got a little too far with AD but saying that "he wasn't playing poorly at all" is at least just as dishonest. AD has been a disappointment all season. He is shooting like he is Curry and Kawhi combined but doesn't nearly has the efficiency of those players. He is far from being the dominating force down low like we like to say it and really the only thing he has been consistent at is defense
Stats don't tell everything and btw 24pts ain't all that special for a player with the caliber of AD. I could accept that from 36yr old Bron but not from AD. Also Schröders stats include the rough slump he was going through at the beginning of the season but he has been really really good ever since he started to lead the team.

He was playing just fine, he had one of his best games of the season before he got injured. He played fine early on for a player who was coming off a Playoff run and a short off-season, half the games were blowout wins too. Remember, Davis was sidelined for 2 months, so it's going to take some games for him to get back into rhythm, same with Lebron.

It really seems that's what's taking a toll on them rn. The schedule of the restart last year that became the bubble wasn't good at all.
