I'd be more worried about him defensively

Him getting into foul trouble was huge, cause it finally forced Vogel to play Gasol

He did play good defense on Jokic though. Also got him into foul trouble as well.

Just admit you were wrong dude it’s not that hard. None of us are going to troll you about or anything. At least I won’t.

Dude, he's played good recently!

My original point was though when they signed him, that they shouldn't play him at the expense of not playing Gasol... Which is exactly what they've done.
You simply cannot play a guy who's your best rim protector, arguably best shooter, and top 3 passer.

Jokic couldn't even beat Lakers without LeBron. Couldn't even get a rebound that was needed and then he let tucker get a game winning layup on him.
No rings for life. His playoff legacy will be the same as baron Davis, one nice upset and nothing else. What a fatass.

Bad game from Drummond, but not horrible -- simply because he only took 5 shots. 3 TO's, but made up for it with a couple steals.
Wasn't his night, but he did play solid defense on Jokic in the first half.

You’re a Kawhi stan. You literally can’t talk shit about Jokic. That would like me talking shit about Dirk :oldlol:

Its like Dirk talking shit to baron Davis.
Dirk is kawhi who has the best carry jobs of the last 20 years and have each made multiple finals
Jokic and baron Davis are losers who never even been to the finals

Pretty sure Dirk wouldn’t talk shit to Baron Davis. Didn’t know Dirk played with 3 all-stars in 2011 like Kawhi did in 2019.

He's awful I don't know why people were hyping him up like he's a all star when he joined :facepalm
Gasol is the best center on the team he needs to start. AD needs to play the 5 when Gasol is not on the court and Harrell and Drummond should barely get any minutes because they're both garbage

Drummond is trash and has butterfingers. Empty stats machine

Harrell is good on offense at least. What is Drummond good at? Statpadding rebounds I guess.

There is no such thing as a good player on a buyout deal.

Yeah but there’s such thing as a useful player on a buyout deal. I wouldn’t call Markieff Morris a good player but the Lakers wouldn’t have won last year without him. Playing him in certain layups enabled the Lakers to slide AD to the five which was huge. I think McLemore will also be useful in certain lineups because he also provides spacing. Drummond is not useful at all though. Not on this team anyways.

False. Look at Blake Griffin. Also, we haven't seen enough of Drummond with Lebron to say that he won't be good for the Lakers,. I do believe he can do just as well in the Javale/Dwight role as those guys last year with the open looks he should get. Doesn't mean I expect him to be a 10/10 player every night, just that he would provide value in about 20-25 mpg in key match-ups in the Playoffs against teams that have size. Just looking at the averages, his scoring efficiency with the Lakers has increased dramatically and he hasn't had to opportunity to play many minutes with Bron yet, he'll be scoring at 60+%FG with James.

Blake Griffin hasn’t been good in years.

Be careful, he can easily get played off the court in the playoffs. Gasol has a Gobert lite playoff track record outside of 2019. Drummond sucks as well though, so not sure what else you would do.

Gasol can shoot the 3, that alone makes him useful. Honestly the Lakers should just start one of the 3 following (McLemore, Kuzma, or Morris) either at PF or in McLemore’s case at SG (with KCP and Bron sliding up a position) and put AD at the center. Teams can’t match up to AD at center if he’s 100%. Maybe Bam could guard him but no other center possibly can. Gasol can be the backup. Drummond shouldn’t play at all outside of garbage time.

AD and Drummond don't have any chemistry on offense. I thought they would be a good fit together, but it just doesn't work. It turns AD into a jump-shooter, which is not his strength. He can hit jumpers but he is not a jump-shooter. Drummond has no range or ability to spread the floor so he has no choice either except to sit in the paint offensively. Neither can create either so their weaknesses pile up. Gasol on the other hand can spread the floor and give AD room to operate in the paint. Gasol is also a very good passer unlike Drummond so that helps facilitate the offense.
Defensively, Drummond is not a good defender and is unable to push out to the perimeter. That causes a hole that other teams can exploit with switches & pick&rolls that leaves Drummond exposed since he is not exactly a good rim-protector. Gasol doesn't have any of these limitations defensively except for the fact that he lacks speed. Drummond is pretty quick for a center but just lacks the defensive ability/instincts that Gasol has. It doesn't leave others like AD/kcp/Caruso any buffer room for error or to attempt steals because of Drummond's rim-protection limitations.
Harrell is good offensively and able to play when Gasol is sitting. I think Harrell and AD can also get in each other's way too so that could be an issue if the two play together. Defensively, Harrell is not a good defender so that could also be another issue. He would be fine playing with 2nd unit though so the AD/Harrell wouldn't be an issue for much more than a few minutes.
That leaves Drummond as the odd man out. I don't know what you do about him. He is a good insurance policy and maybe give a few minutes with 1st unit when Gasol is resting and AD is still out there. I don't know if there are enough minutes for everyone. If you give Gasol 20, Harrell 15, and I guess you can give Drummond 10 or so minutes.. Unless if Gasol is having a bad game or something.
