Better to stay in the play in game all they have to do is win 1 out of 2 games to get in then they get to play one of the 2 regular season fluke teams Utah or Phoenix. If they get 5th or 6th they’ll have to play Denver or the clippers.

So? Are you taking Kawhit and "Playoff P" over Lebron & AD? The last thing I'd want is the Lakers to have to play an extra game or 2, where there's a decent chance of an upset, rather than a 7-game series. If they lose to the Clippers or Nuggets in 6-7 games it's whatever - at least they made the Playoffs and the injuries would be a valid excuse.

Imagine they play the Warriors & lose because Steph goes nuclear, and then lose the 2nd game as well against Memphis/Portland.. No thanks.

Pretty sure lebron wants the week off. He probably doesn't care about 1st round matchups.

They should be looking for Phoenix or Denver.

Phoenix is too 16-18 Raptorsish for me. Young depth. No elite level athleticism or skill other than too old CP3.

LAL would still have to earn it but it’d be a done deal eventually.

Utah and LAC is just scary for them for different reasons.

West is still the West though. There’s no easy way out.

Booker is a top 10 player in the NBA. Maybe you haven't seen many Suns games this year.

Id' say Lebron holds a mental edge with a lot of teams that don't have Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant.

7 games prepared-- A health Bron and AD are winning against most teams.

Play in anything can happen and it would force a veteran like Lebron to play 100% hard Game 1 instead of easing in.

Keeping hiding from GOAT Kawhi if you knew what was good for ya.

This ain't the East... he's gonna have to start caring quick with a low seed.

None of the matchups are going to be easy.

Plus lets say they wanted to target Denver because they are missing two starters. That would be hard to do since Denver is tied with the Clippers.

Beat the #1 seed and it's like you've got the best record in the conference the whole season.

Who's he better than?

AD
Lebron
Giannis
Jokic
Kawhi
KD
Harden
Kyrie
Curry
Luka
Embiid

And he's competing with a bunch of other 2nd tier stars for the next list. He might not even be the most valuable player on his own team
