^^^^ This power is why Jordan was far superior to KD - "Jordan's strength was like a big man's" according to Magic Johnson, which gave him an advantage over KD on both ends.. Jordan was a guard that played like a center with "the best post game in basketball":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYsbx66LZbA&t=0m43s

So Jordan is the goat center (and guard)

And unlike Lebron, Jordan had goat jumpshooting skill (in addition to the aforementioned power), so he could pop off in any fashion and overwhelm KD, while Lebron's plodding, dribble-heavy attack couldn't keep up.

Show me a better post game not named Hakeem (who copied Jordan's move, aka dream shake)

Even if he has the best post game ever which he doesn't because Hakeem exists that doesn't make him the GOAT center
Can he set screens, rebound, protect the rim and bang with other big men?

Can he dominate centers in the post like this?

Come on bruh goat center? Honestly you make people hate on mj who normally wouldn't with statements like this. It's the same shit that guys like warriorfan do with steph or the countless bron stans on here do with bron.

Jordan's footwork and post game is on a 100 but he wouldn't even be considered a top 500 center in the game. For the most part you know your mj shit hut it's shit like this that makes you lose credibility.

Anthony Davis 2021 = 21ppg / 8 rebounds.
Woolridge 1985 = 23 ppg / 6 rebounds.

Lakers will finish above .500 with AD missing 9 weeks and LeBron missing 6 weeks.

Why couldn't the Bulls finish the season at or above .500?

There's only two that are at all in the ball park of being a drop step and it's against a defender overplaying him to one side just giving it to him. Not remotely close to demonstrating a GOAT dropstep.

Maybe I should've added the term "offensively" when I said Jordan was the goat center

I do believe he had goat post skill - he was scoring champ from the post and made more fadeaways per game than Kareem made skyhooks

Ultimately, if the goat guard is called the best post player in basketball (ahead of centers) - that must be the goat.. : :confusedshrug:

^^^Lebron shoots about 39-40% at the higher volumes of 1000 attempts, while MJ/Kobe were shooting 45% or more at 1000-1500 attempts

Lebron needed lower volume of 700 attempts to have better efficiency of 45% or more.

So Lebron lacks the jumpshooting skill to shoot well at high volume, while MJ/Kobe shot great at high volume due to elite jumpshooting skill.

Furthermore, Lebron's rim attack is ball-dominant, while Jordan's superior jumpshooting skill allowed off-ball and ball movement, higher team assists, better fit with teammates, better team offenses with less help, and ultimately, superior team ceilings/Finals record.

.................eFG% All Jumpshots

Lebron 2006 (http://www.nba.com/stats/player/2544/shooting/?Season=2005-06&SeasonType=Regular%20Season): 41.7%, 423/1166 <----- lebron's highest VOLUME year

The “drop step” gifs in the OP, in a vacuum, are not special in any way. What makes it special is that Jordan was a shooting guard, and nobody who played his position could do that.

But there are countless big men (some who didn’t ever step foot on an NBA court) who literally only had one form of offense: footwork/moves in the post. Like what you just showed...that’s how like 2/3rds of power forwards and centers scored their points back then.

The shit you just showed looks clunky as hell when you watch a video of someone like Levin McHale or Olajuwon. Or lesser guys like Luis Scola.

Hell..Kobe’s footwork was smoother.

And if we’re just talking pure drop step (which I know you’re not)...Shaq is the GOAT and I’m not sure anyone else, at least in the modern era, could be argued.

A drop-step is a 1-step vertical off 2 feet, with or without a dribble

You don't need your back to the basket to drop-step, so don't listen to some flinty voice on a youtube video that never played.. listen to a real Hoosier like me who grew up on the Mikan drill

The OP are all drop-steps and no non-big has done anything like that off a drop-step

And that's the key - when I said "goat drop-step", I meant for non-bigs.. I figured it was assumed that I wasn't saying Jordan had a better drop-step than Wilt jfc.. can we talk on a high level on here? Do I have to spell out every single caveat, even the obvious one like this?? Sheesh

Wrong.

So many people consider LeBron the GOAT now and every year more Jordan fans are dying off from covid / old age.

In 30 years people will think of Jordan like Bill Russell and LeBron will be acknowledged as the GOAT world wide.

Because OP doesn't know what he's talking about 90% of the time. Most of his threads are the same concept. Says a bunch of stuff not connected to his point. Here we got video not connected to his point. Same flaw, this time with GIFs.

Here's Kendrick Perkins agreeing with me that those gifs are drop-steps:

So Jordan had superior drop-step, post game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYsbx66LZbA&t=0m43s), jumpshooting skill (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?492849-The-goat-drop-step&p=14310088&viewfull=1#post14310088) and off-ball/ball movement/strategy/brand of ball - that's a lot

Bumping your drop step thread with a Lebron/MJ jump shooting copy paste that has no relevancy to the topic?

Interesting.
