In terms of +/-, that’s a frequent occurrence.

Holy shit Clarkson is having a good game. Feel like it’s been months since he had one.

That's been the case regularly for a few years now, between the player development and Pop's affinity for starting inferior players

Utah is killing everybody in the playoffs.

Anybody thinking either LA team is like entitled to being better is just buying into biases and logical fallacies.

Gobert is having probably the best defensive season since D-Rob in the late 90’s. Insane.

Jokic shits on like everybody ever on offense. If Clint Capela did 38 on him....you’d still not be making a logical point.

Gobert is anchoring a defense with no true PF and a bunch of finesse wings outside like Oneale and Conley to being a top 3 defense.

The impact stats are crazy in his favor. He’s got the highest DRAPTOR on record.

Only D-Rob who basically played the Gobert role when he got old, compares. Well maybe KG when he got really old too in like 2012 or 2013.

But that’s saying he’s playing at defensive sage level while being young. Everybody’s TS% is getting slammed to the floor come playoff time.

All it takes is a one midrange master. CP3/Kawhi/KD would be a direct counter to Gobert. In fact we saw it in Jazz Rockets playoff series 2 year in a row. CP3 made the same shot over and over. Pick and roll. Make them switch for a moment. Score on Gobert.

and yet their lack of offense was what lost the series not the d. Rubio and Favors in the corner is gone

Meanwhile, the whole team is built around Gobert at both ends of the floor, to the point that the Jazz are massively worse when he’s off the court even though they have one of the league’s best backup centers and two legit Sixth Man of the Year candidates. (Utah outscores opponents by 15.4 points per 100 with Gobert on the floor … and are outscored by 1.5 with him off the court.) (https://theathletic.com/2569994/2021/05/06/rudy-gobert-jrue-holiday-top-hollingers-2021-nba-all-underrated-team/?source=rss) His value is more apparent at the defensive end, where Gobert is likely to win Defensive Player of the Year, but observers undersell the extent of Gobert’s offensive impact. His only weakness is that he lacks the post game to dominate against switches, but he’s an elite screener with a huge catch radius around the rim and one with an unmatched motor for screening, re-screening and trucking down the lane every time.
