View Full Version : What’s the GOP Obsession with removing Liz Cheney from leadership

I thought freedom of speech and opinion is something very strong among the GOP. Why are they wasting time trying to get rid of her and not focus on taking back the House and Senate. I just find it hypocritical they’re using her as a scapegoat. When there’s other GOP leaders that are way worse then her cough McConnell, McCarthy etc. Don’t go against orange dear leader :facepalm:roll:

She doesn't represent the base. It's as simple as that. She was one of a handful of Republicans who voted to have Trump impeached and that struck a nerve.
It's the base that decides who represents us, not the other way around.

There’s tons of leaders on both sides that don’t represent the base. The timing of this seems very fishy. She wasn’t the reason Republicans lost the House and Senate these past few years. Where’s the blame on the other leaders of the Party McConnell, McCarthy. It’s not a good luck if want to sway independents and people in the middle to vote and join your party.

I should really refrain from conversing with an idiot and an attempted murderer such as yourself, but I'll entertain you for a bit. Her Politics do not represent the sentiment of an overwhelming majority of Republicans. You keep thinking Trump is some sort of a mythical God. You are stupid. And crazy. We don't want government intrusion in our lives. The Washington establishment has been in power for far too long and we want politicians who bring a fresher approach to politics, but who also do not step all over the Constitution. That is what Trump represented, albeit briefly. You are making Trump out to be some comic book villain, and that says more about your child-like mind and your inability to hold intellectual discussions with adults.

If that's what you think, then you don't know what a totalitarian government is. It was Trump who was silenced. It was Conservatives who were silenced. Not the other way around.
You're bitching and moaning about Trump being a totalitarian dictator, while the Democrats are actually being totalitarian dictators behind your back. You're so obsessed with Trump that it has clouded your vision. I want to live in a world where any kind of speech is free, and where we are free to make our own decisions in life. That is being challenged right now in this country. And it's not Trump who's the one doing it.

Let them remove the sane ones like Cheney and Romney. It will simply speed up the demise of the Republican party.
I believe that ultimately there are more sane voters in America than insane. I have quite a few Republican relatives - most of them admit freely they didn't go to vote in 2020. They didn't discuss why they didn't want to vote & it's not proper to ask, but it should be pretty obvious why. I thought about asking how they felt about January 6, but I don't like to discuss politics with relatives especially if it's a touchy candidate that brings strong emotions. It's best to steer clear of political discussion if you meet them 2-3 times max per year.
Anyways, dump the sane ones and more & more Republicans simply won't turn up. Having said that, I do need to see better Democrat candidates too. If the Democrats push Kamala Harris or Biden again in 2024, I see no reason to vote. 2020 was a political sh!tshow overall for both parties for different reasons.
I will run circles around you. Pathetic soy virgin.

There problem is gaining voters in the middle (Independents) to join them. Instead of trying to do that they’re doubling down on appealing only to there base only. That’s not good enough to win back the WH or the Senate. They might win back the House but that’s due to Redistricting the maps a bit. Despite what you think there’s millions of these Republicans who feel turned off and alienated. They might be a small chunk but it will matter later on dumb Strategy lol.

The fact that the GOP was willing to kick one of their own to the curb (especially a card carrying member of the establishment like 'drone strike Liz') to the curb puts them miles ahead of the dems.
If the dems had the balls to get rid of dem politicians who are hated by the majority of dem voters, disgusting creatures like Pelosi and Jerry Nadler would have been tossed in the dumpster years ago.

Yeah that flat out wrong. Yes Trump did better with Minority votes in 2020 than 2016. However Bush (04) did overall better Among minorities. Overall, President Trump received 26% of the non-white vote, but George W. Bush received more at 28%. Bush did better with Latinos, Trump with blacks. It still didn’t put a dent in the end he still lost by 8 million and lost Georgia and Arizona

Thank you for proving my point
Even a partisan propaganda mill like politifact that desperately cherry picks their sources and numbers to fit their narratives was forced to concede that -
If you put all minority voters together, however, President Donald Trump’s performance was notable. He won an estimated 26% of the overall minority vote, which ranks as the second best showing in the past 100 years by a Republican candidate, trailing only the 2004 election in which George W. Bush received 28% of the vote.
