This kid is a stud. After only his second season at age 21 he has already had an on-par season to the great Terry Cummings.

2021 Morant: 19-7-4
1985 Cummings: 23-9-3

Could anyone see an all time great losing to Ja Morant in the 1st round?

Tatum at 21 put up 23/3/7

Morant is good but not otherworldly

His team is .500 and he’s inefficient.

Ja Morant has been excellent, but nobody should be called a hater if they point out he has a good "team" around him. He's not carrying them or having scrubs suddenly averaging career highs.

They have 5 other players averaging double figures (and that's excluding JJJ) and another 2 more averaging 9+ PPG.

True, Tatum is on another level for now.

Interesting to note that LeBron beat a Tatum/Brown combo in 2018 and Jordan lost to Ja Morant (Terry Cummings) in 1985.

85' Cummings.... #5 for MVP... 22.1 PER... 4.3 BPM... 4.3 VORP... 0.189 WS/48
21' Morant........... no MVP........ 17.2 PER.. -0.5 BPM... 0.7 VORP... 0.079 WS/48

Ultimately, the all-star duo of Lebron/Zydrunas got 2 years of seasoning in the lottery before entering the playoffs in Year 3 as high seeded favorites in a conference that 1-star teams routinely won.

Otoh, rookie Jordan was thrown into the playoffs in Year 1 as an 8 seed in a conference that required a super-team to win.

Let's see how many more flashy dunks over taller players that can end up in unnecessary falls until he aggravates himself with a grave injury.

Nobody has more highlights on a nightly basis than Ja, he is exciting to watch but skill wise and gravity wise there are several young guards who are better players.

Those are peasant numbers compared to Luka (28-8-8).

I mean, I understand why you americans need someone to identify with, now that Jokic is the MVP and Luka is by far the best young player, but come on.

Jordan lost to a Ja Morant type of player in 1985. Also, he got outscored by him. Imagine it. Lebron losing a series to Ja Morant. Crazy time we live in where people think MJ is better.
