So when 7 plays 10 and 8 plays 9, is it a single elmination game or is it a 7 game series?

7\8 seeds play each other - the winnner goes on to meet the 2nd seed in the 1st round, the loser plays the 9th\10th seed to see who faces the 1st seed in 1st round

9\10 seed play each other - the winner faces the loser of the 7\8 seed play in to determine who is eliminated or who faces the 1st seed in 1st round

Game 1: The No. 7 team in the standings by winning percentage will host the No. 8 team, with the winner earning the No. 7 seed in the playoffs. The losing team gets another chance in Game 3.

Game 2: The No. 9 team will host the No. 10 team, with the winner moving on to Game 3. The loser is eliminated and enters the NBA draft lottery.

Game 3: The loser of the No. 7 vs. No. 8 matchup will host the winner of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup, with the victor grabbing the No. 8 seed in the postseason. The loser of Game 3 also enters the lottery.

You can be the 9th seed and 10th seed in your conference even with a losing record; hence, the losers bracket and end up to be the 8th seed depending on results.

This play in tournament is possibly the stupidest idea anyone's ever come up with. You either make the playoff cut or you don't. The NBA needs to get rid of this trash.

The whole point of this is to make the end of the season more watchable.

Which is ironic because everything else theyve done has made the entire season unwatchable :oldlol:

I like it. Cuts down on tanking for those teams outside the 8th spot.

I really don't see the point of it.

So easy, it makes matches more competitive during the season.

Teams around 5-6 fight to attend playoff without playin, teams around 10-11 fight to attend playin.

At the last part of the season there would be only a few teams left that has no goals (or tanking) so it makes games more competitive.
