1971. Wilt past his athletic prime at 34 after a serious career-threatening knee injury faces one of those non-plumbers called Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Take note of when Wilt posts up KAJ, he wants no part of physically engaging Wilt. Could you imagine what prime Wilt would've done to him?

Thanks for the link.

I recall Charely Rosen claiming that the 1971 Bucks could be beaten due to the following reasons: despite Robertson's strength, they were a finesse team. All you need was a powerful center who could bang and lean on Abdul-Jabbar, tiring him out by the fourth quarter. Plus Smith and Dandridge were severely undersized, and therefore the Bucks' frontcourt could also be overpowered.

Indeed to beat the Bucks who were a primarily finesse team you needed to play incredibly physical with Kareem as both Wilt and Nate did against him on the boards and in the paint to wear him out or otherwise, those great Buck teams would embarrass you.

Knowing that, I'm not sure that the Knicks would have defeated them if they somehow got by the Lakers because Willis Reed was banged-up that year.

The Bullets finally got them in 1971 after losing in seven the previous year to them in 1970.

I have watched footage of the 1971 series between the two teams and the Garden was utterly stunned after that two-point loss in game 7.

On another note, those two playoff series were amazing to watch as both teams played each other incredibly even plus the battles between Reed and Wes in the paint and on the boards along with Earl and Fraizer duelling each other on the outside was incredible to watch.
