Assume their teams are otherwise of the same quality.

Who is your pick?

LMAO @ the idiots picking Kobe, when you have LeBron as an option. It's LeBron and it's not particularly close. LeBron is tiers above Kobe. There's a reason why LeBron is the GOAT elimination game and G7 player.

I vote neither - I will take MJ(.)

Kobe would be my last vote.... he had a LOT of missies for wins.
I'd take Dwade over Bron as well.

The question wasn't what guy all time would you take. It was about 2 individual players.

I'll take the superior player and the GOAT elimination game performer. Kobe's track record in elimination games is actually embarrassing, consistently terrible performances with his team getting destroyed several times

I’ll take Kobe for any one game. Lebron for a game 7 though when the the other team is tired.

Other than that this is a very easy pick for me. I just trust Kobe for any one game

If the cast is stacked and had other clutch players like ray allen as a fallback, lebron can make a case over kobe.

If the pressure is at its peak and there is no other to bail them out, I pick Kobe. He will have more resolve to make the shot. Lebron cant even take the pressure of joining the dunk contest.

Kobe's 5/7 on the big stage while Lebron's 4/10. I think that's all we need to know about which player is more likely to win when it matters.

Even if you take out the Shaq years, 40% is much worse than 67%. I know, math is hard. Of course a Lebron stan wouldn't understand basic math.

Would you rather have the chance of winning the title 10x or only 3x??

Of course a Kobe stan wouldn't understand basic logic.

You took out the majority of Kobe's prime here, and Lebron wouldn't have made half the Finals if he played out West. I'll take more rings in less Finals appearances over Lebron vomiting all over himself in half of his Finals.

That's because he didn't become the Lakers best player until his 9th season.

Kobe was scared to try to make Jersey a contender. He doesn't even get to the Finals if he played out East.

Which Finals does LeBron win avg 15ppg on 35% shooting?

What? He was the best overall player in the '01 Playoffs (led the Lakers in WS, was #1 in RAPM, most clutch player statistically in the POs, 29/7/6) and was 1b to Shaq in '02. '00 is the only Playoff run you can say he was a level below Shaq and obviously he had the injury in the finals, the 15 ppg average is skewed because he got injured and had to leave the game in the first quarter, but still made an impact on the series by winning a road Finals game with Shaq fouled out.

5 beats 4. You can make all the excuses you want and try to take away Kobe's titles, but he's a 5x champ with 7 Finals in the much superior Conference. Kobe would have 10+ Finals and probably more rings if he had to beat sub-50 win teams or teams with no superstars like Lebron did. Look at Lebron's 2013 Finals run - 0 teams with 50+ wins, the best offense he faced was ranked 20th in the league, all of them were bottom 10 offenses with sub-50 win records :kobe: and it took a miracle shot from his teammate to not lose that Finals against an actual quality opponent. Cupcake opponents year after year, those Finals appearances are not impressive.

Do you want to use the same arguments that you used in the Oscar and WB thread? LeBron shits on Kobe as a player. LeBron is tiers above him. This is not even a conversation anymore.

A one-off it's Kobe.

A game 7, it would easily be LeComputer. Lebron himself starts off pretty slow on game 1s in the PS basically to understand how a team plays and then ramps up his game by game 2.

And yet, LeBron is a consensus top 2 GOAT. Meanwhile, Kobe got booted out of the top 10.

I like this.

If Game 1, It's Kobe. If Game 7 it's Lebron. Lebron is so great at adjusting, and improving in a series.

Kobe. Ask any Spurs fan who they feared more down the stretch of games, most will answer Kobe.

Because Kobe could be having a game where he was shooting 5 for 17 then suddenly explode in the 4th. Meanwhile LeBron is more likely to score a bunch in the first 3 quarters then go passive in the 4th.

There’s no stats that quantify it but i’ve seen this more times from kobe then pretty much anyone else, not just vs the spurs too. He could be having a shitty game and there will be a turning point in the game where he will take over and bury them over 5+ possessions in a row during a crucial moment.

If the teammates are good, then you can pick Lebron. He will likely play HotPotato and that would be a better decision.

If the teammates suck. The ball is better off with Kobe who can make shots.
