Gets fired by Turner Sports/TNT on Friday and then elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday.
I wonder what he did on Saturday ...

i would feel sorry for him but i'm sure earning over $100 million throughout the course of his nba career and a nice 6 (or 7?) figure job to sit and talk basketball has him really down.

They just really let anyone into the hall of fame these days huh. No disrespect but Webber and Bosh were always second tier players. Also kukoc cmon

Basketball HOF has always been easy to get in compared to the other major sports in the country. I believe Kukoc got in mostly for his accomplishments overseas.

Kukoc is way more accomplished than Webber

How are they 2nd tier players, especially Webber? He made 3 All-NBA 1st teams. Means you're first tier.

Yup. Bosh was an 11x All-Star and had his career cut short while still being one of the best players in the game. Played ATG defense in the 2013 Finals and saved the series. C-Webb had an ATG College career and was one of the 10 best players in the league for a while and was a hair away from winning a championship in '02. 21/10/4 career averages. It's the Basketball HOF, these guys deserve to be in it.

Basketball HoF easiest to get in for pro players. Look at this career and honestly tell me it's "HoF" worthy.

5× NBA All-Star (1997, 2000–2003)
All-NBA First Team (2001)
3× All-NBA Second Team (1999, 2002, 2003)
All-NBA Third Team (2000)
NBA Rookie of the Year (1994)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (1994)

Kind of embarrassing when compared to NFL and MLB HoFers (tho F the MLB HoF. NFL has it perfectly balanced. Wonder how NHL's is). And I didn't even know about him and TNT splitting lol. Good. He wasn't that good of an analyst.

All the same, still. He's a HoFer. His college career was extraordinary as well.

I mean, it is the BASKETBALL HoF, not the NBA HoF, you're right. Still. It's by far the easiest to get into between the major sports.

Even despite the lower standards, he's still borderline at best. We're putting him in the same room as KG, Kobe, and Duncan? Cmon...

whatever you do dont look at reggie miller based by these measures then it aint pretty

dont forget webebr also has a rebound title

miller
5 all stars
zero all nba 1st
zero all nba 2nd
zero all nba defense 1st
zero all nba defense 2nd
1 all nba 3rd team
zero top 3 mvp votes
zero top 5 mvp votes
zero top 5 scoring for a season

its bad :oldlol:

I think Webber being the best player on the Kings teams (however marginal over Stojakovic) is basically the deciding factor. He's the biggest reason they almost beat the Lakers three times in a row. I wouldn't call any of them first ballot except for Pierce, that's for sure.

thing is, Reggie was a great defender, just didn't get the accolades. There are a ton of great wind defenders now (see Klay getting just 1 All-Def team, despite having the rep of being a great defender) and in the 90s (the teams usually full of MJ, Payton, Eddie Jones, Mookie, etc). Let alone other great perimeter defenders like Hawkins and Hornacek who never got on the All-Def team. That's when the eye test comes/came in.

But yeah, I'm just looking at CWebb's resume, which is a bit of a red herring, and it does compare to other HoFers. But that's maybe the point - how easy it is to get in. It's obviously more than just resume. It's stats, influence/contribution, etc. I mean, you could argue Reggie got in b/c of his popularity, historic moments, longevity, the fact he was in 15 playoffs, etc. CWebb has solid stats and a decent resume, but that's really about it, etc. We really thinking he's HoF b/c of that 5-year window he had w/ the Kings?

Earl Monroe - 1 All NBA and 4 All Stars = HoFer
Pistol Pete - 5 Time All-Star and worse playoff record than McGrady

Webber should have made at least 3 other All Star appearances

I hate when people call this Hall of Very good.
It's not like they're letting in RIP Hamilton, Eddie Jones and Dan Majerle.
If Caron Butler gets in the Hall than we have a problem.
