Win Play-in against GS
Sweep the Suns
Sweep the Nuggets/Blazers
This whole "injuries" narrative and resting Lebron and Davis for months with relatively minor injuries has made them look vulnerable to people. They will steamroll and won't lose a game till the WCF.

9 games in a row of AD not getting injured that’s so risky.
Two straight sweeps seems highly unlikely. It’s impossible if Drummond continuous to start/play big minutes. Even Vogel can’t be dumb enough to keep playing Drummond like this now that the games matter...can he?

Idk why people think this lakers team is so good. The team last year was 10 times better. Dwight and mcgee were two physical centers that could move and disrupt shots. Gasol is prolly the slowest center in the league and while drummond takes up a lot of space,he is a HORRIBLE defender. Danny green is invaluable,as soon as he looks washed he will come out and have a big game when u need it....hes gone. Playoff rondo is gone and he was the third best player on last years team. Every team that made the playoffs last year out west got better this year except maybe the nuggs and thats only because murray went down....the lakers got worse. Its plain as day. I expect the lakers to get out of the play-in tournament but they are going home in the first round and we can bet anything

Agreed. Though I don't think they'll sweep the Suns. I say Lakers in 6. I also don't see them sweeping the Nuggets. My guess is Lakers in 7.

Schroder, Harrell, Drummond, and Gasol were great additions to compliment AD and LeBron. Kuzma can provide scoring off the bench and LA is still a great defensive team.
Despite AD and LeBron missing significant time, the team still finished #1 in defense. That's impressive and will prove to be the determining factor in them winning the title.

Lebron didn't have a major injury. If he sprained his ankle in the playoffs, he wouldn't have missed a single game.

They replaced Rondo with a younger version of himself in Shroeder, and added the long running rebounding champion. The Lakers are the number 1 defense even with all those "injuries". Furthermore, the suns will get shit on by them. They have absolutely nobody to guard LeBron or AD. The Jazz at least have Gobert in the paint although AD will most likely take a dump on rudy, and some pesky defenders like Ingles to throw at LeBron. The Clippers have the best LeBron defenders in the league with Kawhi and Paul George, plus the perfect defender for AD in Ibaka. The Suns would get roasted in the 1st round though, Ayton cannot guard Davis, and Bridges cant guard LeBron. Then they have Devin Booker to pick on in switches.

I remember the 89 Lakers sweeping through the Western Conference like it was nothing. They interviewed Michael Cooper before the Finals were about to start against the Pistons. And he sounded very confident about beating them and possibly even sweeping them. Instead, my Lakers got swept.
That's why I don't like too many early round sweeps. It becomes too easy, and the team sometimes gets a false sense of security, of invincibility. Better to get an early wake up call like we did last year, losing a lot of the Game 1's. Then circle the wagons and crush the life out of the enemy.

Pathetic
Don't you ever get tired of trolling about LeBron?
LeBron and AD's injuries weren't narrative, they were serious injuries. AD looked like garbage physically for much of the season before he was gone for months. And LeBron's injury generally keeps athletes out for much longer than he was gone for. Why the **** would LA risk the play-in if they could avoid it by simply bringing back their stars earlier from "minor" injuries?
You are simply creating a scenario where if LA does lose early, you can just feign shock and be all OMG-how-can-they-lose-when-they-so-stacked-?? And if they do well, you can just be oh-i-called-it-all-along-they-so-stacked. Classic Skip Bayless move. LeBron's got you so spooked :oldlol:
Reality is though, Lakers are a team whose stars are just returning from serious injuries, have barely played together in months and are primed to be taken advantage of early.

Yeah where is the random "on switch" coming from :lol LA isn't the same team they were in 2020. They're injured and have one of the worst offenses in the league.
Schroeder just came back Sunday and unlike Rondo hasn't proven anything in the playoffs. The Clippers are coming for that ass while Brooklyn is a sleeping giant.

I mean I wouldn’t say they have one of the worst offenses in the league if they’re all healthy. They had the 19th ranked offense before LeBron went down and a ton of that was done without AD/with AD not at 100%. Last year there offense was 11th. That said Vogel’s offense is horrible and LeBron and AD bail him out constantly.

He avoided Kawhi that is what the deal was.
1st round - Despite his team losing to mavs by 50 without him in reg season, kawhi eliminates dallas mavs
2nd round - kawhi mentally turns himself into Jordan and averages 35PPG on 64% TS vs Jazz in a similar series he had vs 76ers
3rd round - eliminates lebron and defending champs
4th rounds - eliminates super team KD, Harden, Irving
Damn imagine if Kawhi goes through this path, what will the haters excuses be then? Kawhi is 1 playoff run away from being the greatest basketball player in the history of basketball. If Kawhi can pull this off, he can retire and still be the forever GOAT.

Are they injured? Schroeder has come back, AD came back and has been playing for some time. The only one that has some injury concerns is Lebron, and he looked like his usual self from some highlights I saw from him last game. Both in dunking, stealing and driving to the rim. Where are these injury concerns?

That's a fair point, but a 19th ranked offense isn't championship material imo.
Assuming they're gonna transform into an offensive juggernaut and sweep through is wishful thinking (not saying you believe that). The Lakers have the best duo when healthy, and can absolutely win a title, but there's no way they are doing it breezing through the West.

It’s not but even the 19th ranked is deceiving because of AD being injured and out of shape.

miracle thinking
They haven't even a preseason amount of time to gel or get back from these injuries
Basically going into the playoffs with a newly assembled unit like it's preseason, they're going to have to scrape many W's if they even want to reach the Finals
I suspect a few OT's and lots of meltdowns

Who the hell is trolling? I'm giving my take.
Serious injuries... neither Lebron nor AD would have missed a single playoff game because of those injuries. A sprained ankle swells up and sometimes really hurts but isn't dangerous to play on. And AD was kept out as a precaution to prevent him from potentially tearing his hamstring. We will never know exactly and pretending to know for sure is weird but that's how I see it. If Lebron 100%? No but he's pretty close. He looks at least 90%... AD I can't really judge him prior to his last few games because he just wasn't trying. His effort early in the season was just well below par. He looked like he's playing at maybe 70% effort. I was slightly concerned about Davis but after he dropped back to back monster games a week ago, I'm sure he's fine.
It's not just the Lakers. Lots of teams this year were sitting out stars with injuries they wouldn't sit out for if it were the playoffs. Namely Kawhi sitting out for a sore foot, Harden sitting out with a hamstring strain (like AD), Curry sitting out with a bruised tailbone etc.
I will sing nothing but praise on the Lakers if they win a title. And honestly I'm pretty damn sure they will.

It's major considering his age and the amount of minutes he's played for his career. He also hurt his ankle against the Pelicans, so I don't expect him to be as good as last year, at least not early on. It wouldn't be an issue if he was like 3 years younger.

A healthy Lakers team isn't a 19th ranked offense though. The team hasn't really played together that much. With LeBron and AD both on the court, they're a much better offense than what we've seen this year.

Yup... AD and LeBron is an elite offense. It reminds me of the Cavs, they used to always suck in the regular season and then have almost record breaking offense in the playoffs. Its hilarious people think Lakers willlose to the suns or nuggets. That's why I can make money off these games though. Suckers push the line in a favorable direction. With them on court together, they've been 14-15 according to what I just heard right now. Lets add rhythm, chemistry, and that number gets around 8-10 if those guys weren't injured so often this season. A huge difference is the Lakers D is absurdly good. Even without Lebron and AD, it's been elite. Add playoff Lebron and AD, and it will easily be the best defensive team in the world by some margin.

You do have a point that chemistry might be an issue. But I think they have enough veteran talent to overcome it. Time will tell, but I think LA's defense is the x-factor in all of this.
