Not to mention, 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid family leave, life insurance and a pension.

We told you it wasn't going to stop at $15 an hour.

“In Denmark, the average worker in McDonald’s makes $22 an hour, receives 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid family leave, life insurance and a pension. Yes. If McDonald’s workers in Denmark can have a decent standard of living, we can do it in the U.S. #McDonaldsStrike,” posted Sanders on Twitter.

Insanity from Leftists. They want companies to outsource and use automation. No McDonald's franchise owner is going to sign up for this. Not a single one.

Things are going to get nuts in the US real quick. Mark my words. People are getting paid big bucks to stay home and minimum wage is getting higher and higher if you can even find someone to work for it these days. Sounds good from the laborer perspective but it comes at a cost. Most small business will be replaced by corporations soon as they can operate with razor thin profit margins on each business location and all that free money from the government is a form of control, the more the government helps you, the more they want control over you in return.

Save your money boys and girls...hmm that might actually be a bad idea to keep it all in the bank with inflation roaring at us like a freight train

Well said. The corporate lobbyists the ones pushing for higher minimum wage. Big corporations are happy to cut down on small business competition by walling out most other Americans from entrepreneurship.

A $22/hr minimum wage would end every small business on the Outer Cape.

a $22 hour minimum wage is insane. in addition to that, you're not entitled to those kind of benefits working a mickey d's. six weeks of paid vacay.

a reasonably raised wage and paid leave for pregnant mothers, that's it.

Can anyone explain the logic here? You have a Socialist like Bernie Sanders who despises Capitalism, right? So what he wants is for the 1% to be less rich and to hand more of that money down to the Middle Class, right? With me so far?

However, if you enforce outrageous minimum wage hikes like this, all this does is put Small Businesses out of business, and leave the Corporate giants (the 1%) with even more capital than when you started your crusade for higher minimum wage. Am I right?

So your Socialist crusade only empowers the 1%, making the rest of slaves to the system, struggling to find work. We all know that the 1%'s bottom line is to stay where they're at. Not become less rich and less powerful.

So construction workers will have to be paid 40 an hour?

Who would bust their ass doing a physical labor job that pays the same as slapping burgers together or pressing buttons on a register?

Work inside at McDonalds with heating and air on flat ground for 22 dollars an hour or stand in hot sun while 95 degrees out, bent over on a slanted roof for the same wage?

Inflation would quickly cancel out this retard idea.

Double the wage of employees, double the price of food. 10 dollar hamburger. 6 dollar fries. 4 dollar coke. Save 5 dollars if you get a meal for 14.99.

Saying $15 minimum wage was crazy. This will happen if Liberal Progressives run with it.

People like you have been saying "this will never happen", and time and time again, it happens.

Denmarks GPD per capita is below the US, it doesn't harm small businesses at all. It actually might help reducing hype bubbles, because everyone thinks he could be a businessowner in a saturated market.

That said Denmark is ofc way smaller, less diverse than the US and the US purchase power is 15% higher. So a minimum wage raise on Denmarks level would be at 18-19 dollars, while employers and employees have to pay way less tax.

Shows great historical understanding if you equate minimum wage raise with nazism.

Denmark has no minimum wage. What they do have are strong unions bargaining on behalf of labor. Unions there have lots of power because of the supply and demand of labor. The reason is their strict immigration policy. It's very difficult to become a citizen of Denmark unless you are from another Nordic nation. If the US had Denmark's immigration policy there would be very little need for the government to get involved in labor negotiations. Supply and demand would self correct our worker's worth. Hell Denmark even started revoking asylum and kicking out their refugees recently because of their high crime and lack of contribution to their society :applause:

Yep.

The biggest problem for America, IMO, was that Americans stopped having kids.

A lot of the economy depends on the labor of young people. The fewer young people... the trickier things get. On top of which, it's in the best interest of the west to keep America as the top super power, rather than say Russia or China. That requires a large military which requires a lot of soldiers.

The current situation is a huge domino effect of women's independence. When American women stopped having kids, we had to start bringing in women who would. As well as a bunch of foreign men to do jobs there weren't enough young Americans to fill.

Nobody really talks about this as an issue, because of the politically correct fear climate, and many of the liberal soyboys get brainwashed into silence and obedience. But it's pretty important.

Exploit children? Most people working at McDonald's are over 18. And this story has nothing to do with the individual working there or not. It has to do with small businesses being put in a stranglehold by the government. Without small businesses, a large percentage of the American workforce is gone. Tell me, what small business owner is going to hire people at a starting wage of $22 an hour? Do you know anyone willing to do that?

Every job isn't a career gig.

Do you pay the babysitter 22/hr plus benefits? What about the kid mowing your lawn? Or the kid with a lemonade stand?

Any teenager in America can flip burgers. Hence that should be the job they're doing. If you wanna be a financial consultant or a marine biologist or just work on a construction site, you have to put in time and training. Thus better pay.

Just because someone offers a job doesn't mean anyone has to take it. If a young person doesn't like 9 bucks an hour, let him keep doing chores for mommy and daddy. Supply and demand.

GTFO with "exploiting children." Dont be an idealist clown.

Poor people treat themselves like dirt, not anyone else. If anyone is financially struggling, they owe it to themselves and their kids to work hard and not wait for shady politicians for handouts. If Elon Musk can work 100 hours a week his entire life, why can't suckers and losers like yourself and rrr3 work two jobs temporarily or not?

Because Elon Musk doesn't scrub fat from a grill 100 hours a week. Musk considers a business meeting on a yacht as much as work as creating new ideas or overlooking balances or whatever he even does in his work time.
