Kobe on 3rd team and Lebron over Marion I recall both being discussed.

Kobe only played 66 games but obviously nobody cared in 04 and 01 when he played about the same and was first team(64 and 68 games).

Kobe seems like the type who could beat out the bad record on the poor team and keep his status like Pistol Pete or early career Jordan.

And as odd as it is to say out loud I’m not certain second year Lebron was better than peak Marion. When Bron was on a non playoff team and Marion a 60 win team it kinda makes the Kobe vote total seem weird.

Not like totally egregious just....weird. The Lebron obsession wasn’t at full strength back then so we ducked some of the trolling that would come with it today.

I distinctly remember that this was either the last or among a run of about four out of five years in a row where the as always trigger happy Kobe barely made the 3rd/2nd team based on the voting. Which one is voted on by coaches again?

Kobe got injured & ended up missing the Playoffs while the Sonics won their Division, have no problems with that.

T-Mac should have been 2nd team over Lebron IMO because he led his team to 50 wins while Lebron missed the Playoffs.
