They swarmed Curry and he still scored 39 points. How can you blame him? They wouldn't have even been in the game if it weren't for him. Do you realize that Curry literally had no help? He didn't have Oubre. No Wiseman, no Eric Paschall. Obviously, no Klay. Green is a good defender and passer, but he cannot score, even if the bucket was as big as the ocean. The only other scorer Curry had was Wiggins. And then there was no bench, no bigs. Even Damian Lee was out. They had to start Kent Bazemore. He was giving you more than 30 a game. What else was he supposed to do? They had the lead in both games and had chances.

Think of it this way. They were only a play away from beating the defending champs who have Lebron, Davis, and Drummond. This season was a success for the Warriors. They went from the worst team to the 8th seed (8th place) in the West.

Ja Morant is playing with ?

Morant averaged 19 ppg this year, clearly he must be playing more with Curry who averaged 32 ppg and still the teams were even, in fact GSW winning 1 more.

Use your head.

A bunch of great 3 point shooters and a great big man.

I forgot about Paschal. He averaged 18 per 36 as a rookie last year. They definitely could have used him.

Memphis has 7 guys who averaged double figures. GS has 5 and 2 of them have been out for weeks.

High iq from op like usual

Draymond posted a 55 ortg in the Lakers play in game.

To be honest I don’t know how it’s even possible to put up an ortg that looks like from the pre shot clock era while playing the full game next to the greatest offensive player of all time. It’s mind blowing.

Cool so he lost because of injuries. That means his one chip without kd the savior wasn't worth much because cavs were riddled with injuries?

The problem with Curry in his last two games is that he was only interested in scoring when the game wasn't on the line. Once winning time came all of a sudden the double teams were too much for him and he had to get rid of the hot potato. He did his opponent a favor by doing that - played right into their hands.

They were a top 5 defense. So if they're a one man team I'm guessing Steph is playing DPOY defense too? Damn...

Shut the fk up. 21 year old Morant destroyed Curry on his own floor. Stop with excuses. If it was LeBron we wouldn't hear the end of it. Curry is a known choker when things are getting tough.

That's why Curry Draymond and Wiggins are more popular than anybody you may think of. Shut the fk up Curry is overrated. Open your damn eyes. He doesn't have the physical ability to fight hard screens he's too small. His style of play requires another lethal shooter next to him or else he's useless.

Successfully passing out of traps 30+ feet out from the basket doesn’t equal not being interested in scoring.

What should have he done instead? Pull up 3’ from half court every time?

What players could you have replaced Curry with that would have done better?

The only reason the Warriors were able to have a good defense is that Curry boosted the offense enough so they could have borderline defensive hustle type G league players that being literally zero offense play a lot of minutes.

Without Curry the Warriors had the worst ranked offense in the last 10 years of the NBA. If Curry wasn’t playing they would have had to change personnel to try and boost the offense that would have caused a huge hit on their defense in the process. Check out the +/-, the advanced stats, re watch the games. Curry had the best season in the league or was right up there. Warriors were 2 - 7 without him and one of those W’s was vs a team sitting all their starters.

Curry outscored Ja and still lost. The group around Memphis isn't way better, but they got more producers for sure.

GSW had a number of opportunities to win though. So I agree with the no excuse stuff. Bad turnovers were their demise. So was Dray bricking a wide open, game-winning floater :lol

No excuses. His team had enough help because if they didn't, they wouldn't lock for 8th seed at all. Too bad klay isn't just around to bail them out when it truly mattered the most.
